Real wasabi is 抹 from plant. And it is so powerful you cannot hantam like you eat in sushi teh. A tiny bit will give you the full 初恋 feeling Liao.

yeah real wasabi is hard to get in SG.. years ago i go japan for tour .. and visit a local village market.. they don't even sell real wasabi.. i think it very hard to grow... so the mass produce using horse raddish,... Even sushi teh is not using real wasabi...

but then i have not visited all sushi restaurant locally.. don't know... if one really serve real wasabi

Mid to high end sushi restaurants all serve real wasabi.

Even those unagi restaurants serve real wasabi here.

Japanese fine dining restaurants those omakase the chef make sushi in front of you de, will also grate the wasabi in front of u. It will be placed in the sushi already so you only dip in soy sauce. In my memory, none of these restaurants serve additional wasabi as condiment.

A more affordable experience with grated wasabi can go to man man unagi rice bowl. Ownself grate at your table. It was one of my most annoyed dining experiences because grating that damn thing was tough and I was hungry!

moi eat omasake meal at koma before.... that one real wasabi?
likely

fresh grated wasabi got some texture one. and also its not as 'qiang' as the fake cheap wasabi

you know the rush up the nose feeling? real wasabi is not supposed to do that, real wasabi flavour is very mild

Too troublesome ba, real wasabi cannot last. I'm ok with the packet Wasabi from Sushiro, never tasted real stuff. :(

i think they grate in kitchen, it looks real. freshly grate kind can see small bits of fibre. but i cant confirm, cos i never see the actual root.

i love fresh wasabi, it is not bloody intense like the fake horse radish
