If you search for "rechargeable" or "rechargeables" in this thread, it was well discussed. In short, you can try for your lock. They won't blow up but how long they last may vary depending on the lock electronics and your diligence on the batteries. I would not bother with rechargeables unless your lock drains batteries fast, or your lock is faulty and hence it drains power fast (and rechargeables become a temporary measure before replacing the lock).
Yup I had read through and it’s more of like personal preferences.

what brands do u use for the digital locks? doors only? or gate and doors?

I am using Lockin S30 Pro for the door and TTLock for my gate.

Initially I bought it, it was very cheap. After considering the supports and price difference. I decided to go for local set for peace of mind. My preference is using Mi Home for Singapore server as I have other devices.

I have installed digital locks today! So far working well. Anyones uses rechargeable batteries for their digital locks?
I am using reachargeable battery for my current digital lock. But I feel rechargeable battery is not so useful for digital lock. Most locks can last for several months upto 18 on batteries. So not really useful. Rechargeable battery makes sense for use cases where the battery use is heavy. Like a children's toy car for example.

Anyone using Solity digital locks?

Yes.. i recently installed GM-6000 and GD-65B.
So far so good...
had abit of hiccups initially due to sync not working, but solity guy came and easily solve the issue.

Had an elderly at home, had problem with the fingerprint unlock... will need to try unlock couple of times or more usually to unlock the lock. No issue when i use my fingerprint.
Can be workaround by using the RFID Card, which solity gave 2 types, 1 sticker type can stick to the back of phone and another is a small tag type

I bought it at Lazada during 10.10. Plus shipping is around 281. I cancelled the order because it is china set. If u are ok with china set, go for it.

Interesting to hear that. My intention is to swap the batteries every 6 months to make it a habit. Another reason is alkaline batteries tends to leak in my experience hence I changed almost all my batteries to rechargeable and I think it is more cost effective the long run.

That's a good point. My rechargeable batteries are more than 5 years old and still never leaked on me.

I wanted to use my ikea Ladda rechargeable batteries but they don’t fit into the S30 Pro. Rechargeable batteries are a bit bigger than alkaline ones. Ended up using Energizer Max batteries which claim to be leak-proof.

Hmmm. I am actually looking at their 2450mAH ones. I have 1900mAH, let me try later.

Kindly share your review when you have the time. Even initial impression and use, appreciated.
Main issue for me is on the day of installation realised that the gate lock does not have enough space to be attached on top of the existing handle and had to replace it entirely at the handle area itself.

Now my gate got no handle but usage wise is faster as u just fingerprint the gate lock and can just put it open in 1 step. They also magnetise the gate, so it will sort of latch itself when you close the gate, to ensure the gate lock can close properly when it activates.

If you are a first time user of digital locks, take note that this a point of no return to your door and gate, as there will be massive destruction to them to drill the holes needed specifically for your locks. In the event the locks spoilt and need to replace with another brand or what, you probably have to buy another new gate and door since I don't think there will be space left to drill..

There is no way to revert to the original analog locks on the event you need to extract it out and sell your house next time, since there will be a lot of extra holes.

Synchronisation wise not bad, like one 1s to unlock door lock after gate is unlocked. From the inside, using the remote will open both the door and gate also. Note that manually opening the door lock from the inside will not open the gate lock.

Bluetooth will unlock the gate lock, which in turn also unlock the door lock. But not recommended to use it for daily use, as the app connection sux. There is no WiFi mode.

Only abit annoying part is it will say "door closed" like 3-4 times due to the synchronization. Door lock once, gate lock once, then I think the synchronisation will detect again then say one more time. But you can set one of them to silent mode I guess.

These locks support passage mode, they will only say door not lock once, then you can open it to blow wind already. It's only when you are in contact with the lock but can't lock properly then it will start screaming.

Another thing is the original set was spoilt, they have to ask Kaadas from woodlands to grab delivery here instantly for another replacement.

Other than that, everything else works well as of now, as expected to my usage. Keys, cards, pins are pretty standard so nothing to say.

What brand? Of batteries?

Just get Energizer Max or Panasonic Evolta from the supermarket. Why these? Not for any particular reasons other than they are alkaline and easy to find.

If you use digital locks as long as I have, you come to the conclusion that you just have to replace them on a regular schedule.

So read your user guide. If it says every 12 months based on 10 entries a day, then replace then on that schedule (or earlier if you have a big family or more frequent usage). If you consciously use cheaper battery (non alkaline type) because you are gifted with a big huge pack, then replace much earlier (in 3-4 months).

But try not to leave the batteries in the lock until the low battery signs show because you open the door only twice a day and you want to stretch the period of replacement 5 times as long say over 3 years.

Batteries leak for two reasons:

. Terrible battery manufacturing quality ( this may leak even in the box, not in a connected circuit ) hence you should avoid getting the cheapest "no brand" or funny brand from some parts of the world.

. When left in a circuit, eg in the lock and near it's end of power when battery chemistry may lead to a little more pressure hence you should avoid leaving batteries until "the end" end.

Just read your lock user guide and replace on schedule based on that, using Energizer Max or Panasonic Evolta because they are easy to find. It is not rocket science.

If you are into the green movement and can manage your rechargeables, then it is all good as well.

The issue with most of Carousell dealings is that a "Kenny" can be Joey or ABC next month or next year. As long as it is clear to you that you cannot take a non-entity to task as you could (or more likely able to) with a legal entity*. Well you cross your finger all will be fine. I bought quite a few second hand Dell monitors recently on Carousell but I know very well that I am at their mercy when rubber hits the road.

*$5 for small claims court as an example
