Everyone thought SSB hit a high recently (believe it passed 3%) then dropped to 2.75% (with 42k alottment) and now it went back up above 3% and consecutively even, any sign this will continue above 3% in the next few months too? Just wondering...
Can read up about inverted yield curve

well, they can redeem past bonds and reinvest back in Dec issue also
That is feasible but they can't do it simultaneously, i.e. they can't redeem their past SSBs now and then use the proceeds to buy the Dec SSBs immediately because the redemption funds will only be credited in Dec.

So they still need some spare cash to get round this timing mismatch

Not necessary, some may have exhausted their ammo in the last few months' SSB issues

But then Sinkies are rich.....

Well, you can never imagine the greediness and dumbness of sgporeans. Some FOMO and may redeem to put into newer SSB.

I wish they can be more open and tell us how much funds are by Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans. How cash rich exactly are Singaporeans? seems like an infinity pit lol

Double-check using My SSB portal. If it also shows up there maybe you remembered wrongly or did partial redemption

mine showing 10 units. i don't recall SSB can redeem in less than $500 blocks leh.

edit: you're right, didn't know of this SSB Portal existence. last time only CDP can see. it's only shows those that I haven't redeem, so it's still puzzling why i'm seeing 10 units of those that i fully redeemed in SGX CDP.

You sure the 10 units is SSB and not Tbills or SGS bonds ?

not impossible, people can use their "working capital" cash to bridge without committing for longer than a few days.

What's wrong with it? why is it dumb? greed maybe. but everybody is self interest. but what's wrong with that?

why don't you go to your MP and ask your MP to post a parliamentary question?

There were some earlier data (a couple months ago I think) suggesting that Singaporeans are holding well over 90% of the SSBs. Which isn’t surprising to me at all. Most foreigners don’t want to hoard piles of Singapore dollars which is what SSBs are. And Singaporeans collectively wouldn’t have such big piles of Singapore dollars without the foreigners, so there you go.
