My prediction of the stations names for stage 1 of this new MRT line.

Woodlands North - Attap Valley - Senoko - Sembawang North (former Sembawang Shipyard) - Simpang - Khatib Bongsu - Yishun East

Similar to the CRL Punggol extension line, this new MRT line will have a Yishun extension line from Khatib Bongsu - Yishun - Chong Pang
seems interesting.
Btw i noticed a bendemeer mrt that is linked to boon keng mrt and 2 other new lines.

do u guys think this new line will be announced during this year national day rally?
That’s the whole point of feasibility studies… else the thousands of BTOs along this imaginary lines no one will applied or shift there… look at the size of BTO towns being built along Yishun Ave8 to Canberra area… if LTA announced the line now all the properties along this imaginary line will shoot up …. So this have to hold back now from further damage to our already crazy property price… but pick any BTO alone this imaginary line and wait for the announcement… do not need to wait for it to be built (probably need 10-20 yrs) …to Huat …lol

can take clues from the interchange stations, and see if there are any land reserved for provisions for the future line.

The next announcement of new MRT stations could be closer to 2032 when the CRL is almost completed.

This line is not present in URA's Concept Plan 2022, so there were murmurs about how it would pan out. It is likely in very early stages.

The alignment and the station locations are not difficult to make out. In fact, I would believe they need this line sooner than later, starting with the northern sections, as the road network around Yishun East is showing signs of saturation.

@camrysfe Good analysis there, but this line is unique in that the stops between interchanges can be quite far. Out of Simpang area going southwards, I can see Seletar, Fernvale (out-of-station transfer), Lorong Chuan, Boon Keng before the interchanges get closer. The line would probably need to run until Lorong Chuan before demand is somewhat healthy, but it lacks 3-line interchanges.

Any announcements, if confirmed, should be made in 2024 onwards after CRL3 is announced, with the first stage opening 10 years later.

I read from Reddit, the new bto in front of Kallang mrt got an area allocated for a new mrt development. Hopefully they will announce it soon

Lot's of speculation but really nothing concrete. So it just remains speculation. But any new line will be over 10 years away so practically, may not be worth waiting for.

2040 did not cater for this area at all. Yishun is too densely populated to only have 1 line when the likes of Hougang gets 2. I also feel it’s almost an intentional ploy to not allow Yishun properties to appreciate too much should there be a second line serving close to the Yishun dam / Seletar area.

I thought it’s a provision for bus interchange ?
If you look at the site map. There is indeed a blank piece of land. Likely for the new mrt line. The bus interchange had already been carteres for. No wonder they built a busy interchange at Kallang.

Also if you look at the old bus interchange at Kallang, the area has been rezoned for hotels

Yes, the bus interchange will be part of the BTO, on the side fronting the MRT. Likely a replacement for Geylang Lor 1 Terminal, which was there since 1975.

The triangular plot of land is slated for Commercial with plot ratio up to 4.9, so can expect a mall there similar in density to PLQ. I also expect the new MRT line to interchange with the EWL at Kallang.

Based on the LTMP, stations for this line should be:
• Woodlands North*
• North Coast
• Attap Valley
• Senoko
• Shipyard
• Canberra East
• Yishun North
• Simpang
• Yishun East
• Seletar*
• Jalan Kayu
• Buangkok
• Serangoon North*
• Serangoon Gardens
• Lorong Chuan*
• Kim Keat
• Whampoa
• Boon Keng*
• Geylang Bahru*
• Kallang*
• Stadium*
• Marina East
• Gardens By The Bay*
• Marina South Pier*
• Prince Edward Road*
• Anson

* Interchange stations

Yeah, the "future use" area next to the new bus interchange looks like reserved for the 9th MRT line interchange station at Kallang MRT

given the long term plan to relocate paya lebar air base and free up the site for development, there should be a line there eventually (2030s - 2040s)?
