Is Singapore passport an ePassport?


The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) is one of the first to introduce ePassports when the Singapore biometric passport (BioPass) was launched on 15 August 2006.

I thought like e-wallet. No need bring passport to overseas. :)

Translated: If it is the first time to use the automatic gate, you must also go to the counter of the Immigration Bureau to make a one-time biometric authentication record.

Filing 3 days in advance isn't an issue if it's a pre-planned trip. But where/what is this counter?

and as per usual #MalaysiaBoleh way of a new piece of news about a new service, it would take more than 1 time of announcing to provide all the necessary information for users.

and this also confirms that the index finger scanning is not a record of your biometric details... if it is, then they would already have that info with Malaysian Immigration... #SMH

then with the new MACS 2.0 system, it seems that the one-off record also won't tally in the end, counter registration record fingerprint, auto gate verify face...
