Since a few weeks back, I realised both my EVPAD 3S were not playing contents from VOD. Most of the time the Star Live works. Both are located at different households.

What is weird is that most of the time, the movies cannot play when connected to the household WiFi. But they play as per normal when using the a mobile phone's hotspot.

Tried the suggestion of the customer support to change playing speed to lowest (it was already at the lowest), use the DNS Changer, and also clean up the system.

Sometimes after doing these, the first few titles in the list can be played. After trying to play those further down the list (mayhe 5-6 shows away), then all the videos cannot be loaded.

Anyone experienced this above, or know any solutions?

Edit: As long as the first video cannot be played, subsequent ones will not work as well.

Which DNS do you use? Does your live become very choppy?
I used the Google DNS.

If I'm using my own mobile hotspot, don't even need to activate the DNS.

For the Live Channels while using WiFi, my last test showed that the channel only played for around 10-20 seconds, then it will hang there. This is using the newer channels, eg. Channel 8_2. This problem was reported quite some time ago by my mum whom uses it to watch local channels, but I just thought it was choppy.

Channels will play normally if I use my mobile hotspot.

My workaround was to install meWatch on the boxes for my mum and in laws to use. Unless they willing to use their own mobile hotspot to watch the Live Channels and VOD.

I heard from Sim lim guys that slowly they are blocking all Singapore ip address from accessing those VOD contents. I faced similar problem as you. Only using phone hotspot can be watched. The best work around is to buy a VPN software. There are many around. Then choose a server that is not Singapore. It works for me. However live tv now seems like it’s totally not working.

Ah, so that's the reason! Thanks for sharing this.

I'll go look up on VPN software then. :)

I have the Evpad 5s, most of their live channels are down due to some hack on their service.

Tiagong migrated to SVICLOUD.

Their support also didn't managed to help me to solve the issue.

Asked me to settle video playing to lowest speed, system cleanup and use DNS changer.

All doesn't solve the problem fully.

Must understand also, they offered pay once service. After that, they dont earn unless u buy their box. They need to upkeep the servers etc n also maintain. Nobody will offer such service life time.
Normally one time paid service like evpad or other similar boxes will uplorry after 3-5 years. The owners will do a new box and to sell again. Unless we talk about monthly paid service then its a different ball game.

for vod, use a paid vpn. They have 30 days cancellation policy ,most of them. Every time you boot up your evpad you need to use the mouse to activate it. That’s the only step you need to take unless you don’t switch off your device. I use PIA vpn as it’s the cheapest and it works. Download the PIA apk onto your thumb drive and then plug it into the box to download it would be the most convenient. Evpad support has come back to me saying star live is down at moment. No idea when it will be up. I heard there are many live channel paid subscription arrive like iCloud tv etc. those are probably more reliable as they will have money to maintain the server.
