Mine just gave way too today. Just wrote an email to XTRA ask for replacement cpost as my Aeron is 13 years old. Would love to know if there are alternative..

XTRA came back with a rather steep price in excess of S$800 (inclusive of shipping) with a 3 - 4 month wait. After trying my luck with various places, Newstar was finally helpful enough, and quoted S$350 (with a 3 - 4 week wait). I'll have to see how the experience is like, but regardless the lady responding to my queries through Carousell/WhatsApp has been really friendly so far.

Clarification: I'm referring to the backrest mesh.

At the moment I just want the chair fixed because it's really uncomfortable to sit on, so not sure if this is original HM Mesh. However, they seem to distribute HM, so I would think so.

The tear didn't start at the lumbar support section; in fact it happened near the upper back region, and then created a downwards tear all the way to the lumbar area. I've no idea why it started at all as I tend to be really careful sitting down.

according to what the audiosg boss mentioned to me, for those customers that have mesh torn issue seems to be those who didnt wear tshirt on their bodies while sitting. The sweat and oil from the body seems to have somehow interacted with the mesh, causing it to be brittle over time and tear.

I cannot verify it, just passing on the information. Those whose mesh are torn, the mesh is also very smelly as well haha... i presume due to the oils and sweat from the body.

I have use my aeron remastered for coming 3 years now. I always wear tshirt, my mesh is working fine, no signs of wear and tear.

Thing is they've not contacted me even after 2 weeks.. it's problematic sitting on the chair as it is so I decided on getting my replacement elsewhere instead. Slightly disappointed with UI's responsiveness, to put it gently.

Odd.. I've always sat well on my chair, shirt and all. It's strange that the back goes first before the seat - you'd think that the seat is subject to way more stress, sweat and body oils (amongst other things )

I feel it is worthwhile to get a second hand Aeron classic with forward tilt. Sitting on one for 3 mths, much better than Secretlabs.

If you only lean back or recline 90% of the time, yes it does. If you do a lot of upright position, task-focused things on the chair, you may find the head-rest annoying and in the way.

think u just buy the chair alone first and see how you use

personally, i find no use for the headrest

most of the time doing stuff on pc so body will arch forward to type etc

Not fair to compare with Secretlab la, that's like comparing a Armaggeddon rgb gaming mouse with a Logitech MX Master 3S.

Reason for chosing Secretlab is because they are streamer / young no backache problem , they totally dont care abt sitting posture as long it look trendy
