Damn looking at the Japanese reviews they actually go more indepth vs the youtubers. For example if you play COD MW2 while streaming/recording, there is actually a big fps hit for the 7950X3D but not for the 13900K. The E-cores are just better at doing this kind of work I guess.

The good news for anyone that hasn't build a PC yet, the 7950X3D using DDR5 4800 and DDR5 6000CL30 has basically the same performance because most of the workload goes into the cache and never has to access the memory.

wow which reviews? Intel P + E cores are meant for such scenarios and they beated amd so called all-purpose 7950X3d? :o

7800X3d is more ex than 13700K, but later has more E cores... amd is in trouble man.

so only positive of zen4d has lower power draw. but gaming and multitask cheaper Raptor lake can keep up or better!

@Dr.Vijay HWZ still no disclose SG launch? seems unlikely out so soon here.

Pretty much just says 7900X couldn't do this properly, even with 7950X3D its slower than 13900K. When you game the chipset driver actually recognizes this so it uses the 8 cache cores for gaming, when you game and record at the same time it also recognizes this load so it allows all 16 cores.

I think the issue is when you look at the voltage regulation noted by Skatterbench both of CCD uses a single voltage regulator so if you enable both then the frequency will take a hit. This happens on Intel chips as well except it just lowers the ringbus instead of core frequency.

I just knew from the way AMD behaved this chip is gonna be DOA most people... :spin:

Should have just stuck to 7800X3D only, the asymmetric CCDs are a mistake imo. Alternative will be dual V-Cache CCD SKUs which have niche use case so financially this idea is DOA from AMD's perspective.

I think this is one the solutions they have to deal with sooner or later given the chiplet manufacturing

Probably can see this as growing pains for AM5 loh

Give it a few more weeks to a month then you will see it I think... I remember the non-X CPU also took quite a few weeks...

seems my agah was quite near

local prices... :o

7900x3d $999
7950x3d $1236

13900K $868

hard choice what to buy?
Trick question, it depends on whether your existing system is meeting your target FPS or not. :s13:

Fundamentally I'm still not too hot on asymmetric core configs which rules out Intel and some of AMD's parts, so probably 7800X or 7800X3D if my wallet really has to open for current gen CPUs. :o

rooks like 7800x3d is capped at 5ghz even if you do pbo.

if you are twitch$treamer, more cores the better tiagong, 8 cores will hitch with background tasks :o

Well I will need motherboard also... as my current PC is i7 4770k... with DDR3 RAM... so yeah basically entire new system excluding the casing and Air Cooler which I already got sitting in my home.
