SMH at hdb data port locations
you can run cable to either locations:
location (a) may require trunking and drill thru doorframe/wall/other surface. this assumes you dun have false ceiling to hide trunking, or can hide the cable within other existing trunking (not always recommended for various reasons)
i have seen people run the cable under the door too - longer cable, but no drilling needed. cable was strung along the corridor (saw it when house hunting LOL). you can also wall-mount desktop routers - some have metal brackets, which i have seen advertised on carousell.
location (b) you can just lay a cable, and hide it behind furniture, or let it run along the skirting. place the node on top of say, cupboard or a side table. higher is generally better, but desktop is acceptable if there are constraints.
for both, if you can use power over ethernet (POE) systems, that would help to remove the power point constraint. but that's another rabbit hole.
