Simba going into broadband business ?![]()
Thanks ! I go see and kaypo. Just recontacted Starhub for 2 yearsThere are two SIMBA Fibre broadband threads now in this forum.
S$20 per month for 2.5Gbps plan, 12 months contract.
thinking to move from singtel 1gbps to StarHub 500mbps cos no recontract deal for singtel
any feedback on StarHub 500mbps?
Starhub 500Mbps is fine.
As for SingTel, you have to talk to SingTel to get recontract deals. The reported current recontract deal is S$40.40 for 1Gbps, free WiFi 6 AX5400 router or mesh node.
thanks. should I call or go to singtel store?
does StarHub have ONR? cos I'm using singtel in db box etc
If it happens only on wifi it is likely to be wifi channel scan that some router do on regular basis on fixed timing, if it includes cable then I have no idea.need some advice here. everyday without fail i have disconnection at 3pm, 9pm, 3am, 9am with increased 1-2min on a daily basis.
for eg: today 3pm,9pm,3am,9am
tmr 3.02pm, 9.02pm, 3.02am, 9.02am
has been ongoing for awhile now. changed the router previously after complaining to SH but same issue persist. any idea what could be the cause?

I had similar issue - router reboot randomly when i switched over to SH from ST. I thought my router was old cos I re-used the router back then. Thus, I bought a new router but the issue did not go away. I tried changing router settings until I turned off IPv6 on WAN then the random reboot stopped. It has been stable since then over a year. You might want to try and see if it helps for your case. good luck
old router = Linksys Velop
new router= TP-Link Deco X68
any users staying in the north? how's the internet stability? good?

No need to inform isp when change router .Looking to get some opinions from experts here.
Currently i am on Starhub 1gb fibre bb and fibre tv(old samsung black set-top box) and using the Linksys EA8100 router issued by them back when i signed up for the plan. I am thinking of changing to a Wifi 6 capable router and saw many M1 issued TP-Link AX72 being dumped on carousell for below $100.
I am living in a 3 room flat and mainly use WIFI with no more than 5-6 devices connected at once so i don't really need a router that is too fancy or powerful. Might consider jumping ship to simba 2.5gb broadband when they launch so i feel the TP-Link AX72 suits my current and future needs nicely. I am assuming those M1 issued TP-Link AX72 should not have issues working on starhub fibre bb but is there a need for me to call up starhub and inform them about the router change? Any other recommended alternatives to the AX72 at around $150?
Recently changed mobo on PC and now can support up to WIFI 6e thats why considering switch to wifi 6 router. Currently with my PC connect to 5ghz band wifi, speedtest results hover between 550-580mbps. I am assuming by changing to wifi 6 router i will probably get closer to the capped out 1gb speeds. No need to inform isp when change router .
in fact, no need to change router at all if you have no issues . Normal casual user will not feel the diff when moving from wifi5>6.
And by the way , your client devices need to be wifi6 capable too. So change router , change devices too.
