Alright tks! So to upgrade my 970 Evo, I get a Crucial P3 is good enough?
Depends on usage, if you going to write a lot of big files it's one of the worst pick combo, Iirc p3 has No dram and QLC. For gaming only no issue.

Yeah I wouldn’t recommend qlc for a main drive either. Probably no reason to upgrade from the 970 Evo, or can consider leaving that as a main and get the P3 as a game only drive.

Buy already just use, most are just concerned about the lower lifespan.

You can monitor your drive health and record the difference between today and 30 days later if there is any drop in % based on your usage. If really degrade a lot then may consider getting a TLC nvme loh.

It's not really the flash endurance that is an issue. The P3 have a warrantied write endurance of 0.13 drive writes/day which is roughly 130GB a day for 1TB drives. You won't hit this surfing the web/playing games.

Biggest pain point is QLC have terrible direct flash write speed (~100MB/s, what you'd expect from a HDD when filled). Still, it's not really a problem until you exhaust the SSD's dynamic SLC cache, which won't happen often for light users.

Read speed is still very fast, so wouldn't be an issue for read heavy workload (i.e. gaming).

My MB only have a single SSD slot.
Okie so if I wanna upgrade, i should just get a 970 Evo 2GB correct? No point to get the p3 then.

Any extra PCIe slots? Can get cheap adapters for your spare slots to fit extra m.2 drives, no drivers or software needed.

I would say yes for your situation, if all you need is 2TB. The old drive can be reuse as an external storage with an nvme enclosure. Or follow crystalnox advise.

What I did for my old build MB with 1 nvme slot is nvme as OS/ work drive, another cheapo 2.5" ssd for games and whatnot stuff.

2.5" ssd use sata cable :) plug straight to MB connectors, no need adaptor.

The downside is the speed of 2.5" ssd, much slower than nvme, but they are enough for a game drive for me.
