Even Bedok also have direct bus. Can even take MRT to Wdland. But how long it takes you? U prefer to work in Changi or Wdland if u stay Eastern side? Why banks can post their staffs to branches nearest to their homes and not ICA? U go interview and ask them. Standard answer they will give you.
But your assumption now is all the applicant are staying in the east ? On a similar vein, does this means for those staying in the north and posted to Airport have the same toxic culture too ?

Lets compare Airport and Wdland. U go watch how they work and the environment there? If you think Wdland chkpoint nice place/environment to work, be my guest. ;)

As for posting, its no secret that staffs in the west are posted to the East and vice versa. I am just saying if one stays in the East, be prepared to be posted to wdland/tuas. I cant think of any positive points for Wdland checkpoint. Maybe those stay in the North like Wdland/Yishun wouldnt mind. But the place is toxic, imo. Be prepared. Long hours like 12 hours shift. No nite shift allowance. Ask those who work nite shift, how long/short is their rest time?

Sure , if you are comparing the aircon environment and everything but from my experience, each checkpoint have their own sets of advantange and disadvantage. I did enjoy my stint at Woodlands btw

On your second para, well it is definitely a secret to me (maybe I dont have enough clearance) even though I have been in service for some years that ICA have such policies to delibrately post officers on opposite ends to inconveience them. Earlier , I believe you mentioned your uncle is a SCI. Putting all prejudice aside, unless your uncle is expecting to remain in a particular checkpoint near his place for his entire career, I would say deployments to different checkpoints all over the country is expected for officers to gain exposure.

While I am not in a position to comment on allowances and shift hours publicly, all I can say is the rest hours is sufficient for me at least. Unless of course you are expecting to be able to sleep through the entire night. But if so, whats the point of operating 24/7 then?

Are you aware some officers posted back to Wdland checkpoint twice? Whereas some in their life time only once. Some, few though, have not been posted to Wdland at all! HR tidur ya!

Whether HR did it on purpose i have no idea. But i am very very sure they know the address of the officers when they did the posting. As for my uncle he practically been to most of the Commands. I mean theres so many checkpoints. If one stays eastern side, can trsf him to airport, aircargo, coastal, port. See so many. Whereas those western side can post them to Wdland/Tuas, Ports or Coastal command. Those who say central, should not have problem.

U mentioned checkpoint advantages? Plse list down the advantages one can find in wdland checkpoint in comparison to let say Coastal command or ports? :ROFLMAO:

Yup I am aware, one of them actually.

Well, I can say land checkpoints being the busiest checkpoint has one of the most challenging environment to work in. Not one day is the same, which is exactly what I love about it. One day you can be doing a specialist roles, another you can be doing different modes of clearance etc etc

That is you. Some prefer to be specialist in one particular field like say pax clearance, etc. Depend of individual. I rather pick Coastal command. Very challenging. Fresh air. Wdland is such a toxic place. Look at the environment...the air you breath. Imagine living in P Ris and working at Wdland:( By the time i reaches my workplace, already half dead. What so challenging? :ROFLMAO:

My point exactly, so it is really up to the individual. Just because you cant do it, doesnt mean everyone cannot make it or perform in a particular environment. To each his/her own.

But how many individual willing to work in wdland? Maybe those staying in wdland or northern side. I can say 90% or more wont hesitate posting out of Wdland. Thats why is so difficult to trsf out of Wdland. And most officers wouldnt want to be trsfed to Wdland. Agree?

If just based on this, I would Disagree. I do know of individuals who asked to stay in woodlands. But of course I dont speak for everyone in the Checkpoint

Similarly , I also do know of ppl who wants to post out of other checkpoints too. From this logic, does it means everywhere is toxic?

Anw as I said earlier , everyone is entitled to their own opinion (including yourself). I sense that you are going to carry on your bashing which I no longer see a need to respond to as you have your own views and is only focusing on the travel distance and your mentions of weird HR policies which I am not aware of.

From your choice of words, I suspect you are also from ICA (either current or former). Just want to wish you all the best brother !

All the best brother !

If HR not weird, why make officers all the way fm East to Wtcp? And we have officers fm the West like Bt Panjang/Wland all the way to Airport? Is there no other suitable nearby checkpoint available? Impossible. Already cost of living quite bad and HR make officers travel so far. U think transport is cheap?

Of course there will be some who like working in Wdland cos got kakies, or they stay in Wdland or nearby wdland checkpoint. But i am saying majority officers would not want to be posted to Wtcp. If HR put up a notice and ask for volunteers who are willing to go Wtcp. I am sure very very few volunteers. Maybe none at all. ;)

These two checkpoint wtcp/tuas most toxic especially the environment/air you breathe. Agree? I pity those new recruits. U mentioned challenging work in Wtcp. U want challenge...go to enforcement/intel. (y)
