李总理2020年得知陈川仁和钟丽慧婚外情 曾劝阻但藕断丝连

国会议长陈川仁和淡滨尼集选区议员钟丽慧因婚外情退党。李显龙总理说，2020年全国大选后不久得知两人有不当关系，最近一次在今年2月劝两人结束关系，但近来得知不当关系仍在继续。

李总理是人民行动党秘书长。他星期一（7月17日）下午在总统府召开记者会说，很遗憾陈川仁在这种情况下离开政坛，但他必须为自己的行为与操守，向国会、行动党、选民和家人负责。

他说，除了陈川仁近日在国会麦克风未关闭时使用了失礼用语事件，陈川仁和同为议员的钟丽慧也有不当关系，而后者更为严重，因为陈川仁是议长、钟丽慧是议员，两人不该有不当关系。

李总理说，他最近一次在2月和陈川仁谈过这件事。“他承认自己做错了，并提出辞职。我接受了他的辞呈，但我告诉他我需要确保景万岸—菜市分区和淡滨尼东区的居民继续获得照顾。”

陈川仁辞职前是马林百列集选区议员，负责景万岸—菜市分区事务。钟丽慧则负责淡滨尼东区事务。54岁的陈川仁已婚，育有两个孩子，47岁的钟丽慧则未婚。

李总理当时也告诉陈川仁，他必须结束和钟丽慧的关系。然而，总理最近得知一些信息，强烈显示这段关系仍在继续。

钟丽慧也曾被劝阻，包括李总理在今年2月也和她谈过，但她仍然继续与陈川仁保持关系。

针对陈川仁和钟丽慧的不当关系持续了多久，李总理说，他是在2020年大选后不久得知此事，但他不知两人关系何时开始。两人当时就被劝阻，但很不幸的，此事并未了结。

So it was kept under wrap even though the party already know about the matter. I thought when the WP guy’s marital affair was first exposed, he was forced to resign by PAP citing integrity issue. Then Michael Palmer’s affair also broke and PAP had to do what they had forced WP to do, saying that they wanted to uphold this and that and such nonsense would not be tolerated.

Now the PM actually knew about it for years and didn’t ask them to resign immediately. If this is not double standard, I don’t know what is.

With the GRC system that they had implemented, the other members of his GRC can always cover TCJ's duties should his resignation be accepted.

At the point he accepted Tan's resignation in Feb, he owes the public a duty to disclose even if more time is needed to make necessary arrangements. Did he inform his deputy LW? If so, LW has also not been transparent about it.
