IMHO.
Eh... incoming SMS consider as using or not ?
Short answer: Probably no.

(Even) Without using the M1 Maxx mobile app, you can check your M1 Maxx $0 base plan quota via UMB / USSD as follows...

- Just dial *180# using your M1 Maxx line.
- You will receive a menu. Reply 6 (for base plan).
- You will get a msg showing the available/unused $0 base plan quota (remaining) for current month.

If you do the above,

You will see that available/unused M1 Maxx $0 base plan quota is reflected as only 3 items:
+ LOCAL VOCE: 10 mins (outgoing call mins -- if receive incoming call, this quota is not reduced)
+ LOCAL SMS: 50 SMS (outgoing SMS -- if received SMS, this quota is not reduced)
+ LOCAL DATA: 0.2 GB (mobile data)

Usage of the $0 base plan is considered to have occurred -- as long as any of the above 3 items' quota is used (i.e. reduced) -- this implies:
(1) Make a local outgoing mobile call.
(2) Send a local outgoing SMS.
(3) Use mobile data.

Both incoming calls + incoming SMS are FREE.
Since these two are not reflected as part of the $0 base plan quota, we'll have to assume that receiving incoming mobile calls or receive incoming SMS -- MAY NOT constitute usage of the $0 base plan.

U can just download the list of M1 Maxx retailers and visit one at a time, preferably one near u. Move on to the next retailer if the one u visited wanted to impose additional charges.

Got the M1 Maxx plan at handphone shop yesterday and successfully port in from SIMBA.

Guy at shop say they charge $10 for Port in. Lucky I read here that can do it ourselves via the app.

I like the app. Simple and easy to use.

****
Port in process :

1. Got sim card from the shop at 3pm. Did simple tests that it works.

2. Download app. Request for Port in at 3.45pm via app. Just need to indicate Port in number, current mobile operator and whether prepaid or postpaid.

3. Received SMS shortly after request on both the M1 Maxx line and my SIMBA line.

Your number port request will be processed by your previous service provider on 19 Jul 23. You will be notified via SMS upon approval or rejection.

A while later received second SMS.

Your request is approved and your number will be ported into MAXX tonight. There will be service disruption of up to 3 hours from 11pm during the porting process.

4. At 11pm, SIMBA line deactivated. Received email from SIMBA that line has been terminated.

5. Next morning at 9am check that port in is successful.

At 9.46am received following SMS :
Dear Customer, your number has been successfully ported into MAXX.

😊

Does Maxx port in request need to be done upon activating the Sim card or can be any time, said 12month later?
To existing Maxx card users who using it since launched, do you still see the port in option in the app? Thanks.

Should be can port-in anytime later (see below).

I just checked.
One new M1 Maxx Iine I got -- more than 1 year ago -- can still see & access the port-in option in the app.

Nice to see that M1 Maxx allows prepaid port in/over from other telco. I think only SIMBA (formerly TPG) is the other one that allows this.

yes, my prepaid number became postpaid after I port to TPG. Had since port to other MVNOs which only accept postpaid numbers with no issues...

I have just went to M1 MAXX retailer shop and paid SGD 15 + SGD 8 for registration fee.

I went home and found out that i only get 0.2 GB of local data, 10 mins of local voice, 50 local sms and free incoming call.

i was puzzled, i did not get the 120 GB local data and it's already too late to return to the shop. Tomorrow i will check again with the shop

Why got $8 registration fee? Think the shop anyhow charge you. And also weird that you only have the base plan entitlements when you paid $15 already.

Issue has been resolved. The shop owner forgotten to add Maxx SGD 15 plan (120GB data, 500 mins voice, 50 sms,2 GB data roaming)

Today the shop owner has added the Maxx SGD 15 plan.
