Issue has been resolved. The shop owner forgotten to add Maxx SGD 15 plan (120GB data, 500 mins voice, 50 sms,2 GB data roaming)

Today the shop owner has added the Maxx SGD 15 plan.
Hahaha, 虚惊一场 !

BTW, when you bought it, did the retailer activate for you ? Does he has a list of numbers for you to choose like buying prepaid sim ?

Why got $8 registration fee? Think the shop anyhow charge you. And also weird that you only have the base plan entitlements when you paid $15 already.

Actually i inquired 2 shops, the first shop clearly stated in the banner that they will charge $10. The second shop that i bought the sim card did not state the registration fee upfront and only after they activated the sim card and collected the payment, they mentioned that they will charge $8 for registration fee on top of the $15 maxx plan, so total was $23. When i arrived at the second shop, i asked explicitly was there other charges beside $15 plan fee and they did not respond.

I was in hurry to go to my destination place, so i did not insert the sim card and test it immediately. I forgot to bring the sim card ejector as well.

Anyway, lucky today the problem has been resolved after the shop owner added the Maxx $15 plan without additional payment anymore.

yes. before i left the shop, the retailer activated the sim card successfully for me. My mistake is NOT immediately test it right away, because i had an appointment elsewhere and only after i arrived home late night and i realized there was only base plan exist in my plan without any Maxx plan added.

Yes. the retailer requested me to choose a number from 6 available options.

Thanks for sharing.

How much did u paid for the sim card?

Port-in is same day?
If my post paid SingTel plan ends on 11 Aug, I should only do the port in on 11 Aug?
Sorry for late reply. Did not realise I accidentally ignored this thread so did not see your query till now.

I paid $12 for the $12 plan. Guy said he normally ask people to get the $15 plan but I told him $12 plan good enough.

I told the shop I want to port in from Simba. He said he will charge $10. So I said then I do it myself. But at least he confirm I can do it using the app.

I port in same day. As shared earlier, I got the card then went nearby to try out on a spare phone that I brought along. Tested calling and SMS in and out to my phone. Tested the data.

All ok then I download the app. Checked the usage has the correct data, call and SMS for $12 plan.

45 min after I got the sim card I request for port in via the app at 3.45pm. Port in started at 11pm same day. Next morning port in completed.

I think there should be a cutoff time for same day port in. Not sure what time for M1 maxx.

Don't cut it so close. Just in case port in failed, give some extra days to retry. I believe Singtel will refund prorated unused days. You can call them to confirm. Just make sure you are not in contract on date of port in.

Better not. Port in 1 day after last day of your contract. Not worth paying penalty for early termination. Think you need to make sure no outstanding bill also or the port in will fail.

Singtel should prorate and refund you. But might take some time. Call them to confirm this and how they will refund if you don't have other Singtel services. Because I remembered few years back after I port out my father's line with Singtel I could not see the bill after that from Singtel app because keep giving error that number don't exist. And worse I could not get through to CSO from Singtel hotline because of the same error.

You mean after the M1 Maxx sim card is activated, can it work without the app ?

Can. That's how I manage to test calls and SMS and data immediately after leaving the shop. Just double-check with the shop that they activate for you.

I only downloaded the app after I was sure the sim card works in order to request for port in.

I was at one shop and the fella was serving another customer. Not sure if it is the M1 Maxx but have to install app and do something on the app. Weird. Thanks for the clarification.

Guy ask for my NRIC then use his HP to do some stuff and take picture of my NRIC. I think he scan the SIM card also. Then pass to me. I forgot to ask if it is activated but it works once I put it into my spare phone and start up the phone.

And I don't think he wants me to download the app. After all he was trying to charge me $10 to do port in. 🤣

So you managed to get yours ?

Not yet. I wanted to ask the fella if he will charge me additional.
But he was attending to another customer. The fella registering M1 using passport.
I waited awhile then go off.

Yes. Can port in any pre- & post-paid numbers from any telco, except for M1 postpaid line.

Do note that if you are porting in a prepaid number, it will be converted to a postpaid number. This is irreversible.
If you're using m1.. U can port to zero 1 then port back to m1 Maxx?

I totally agreed 👍
Early termination would led to penalty of contract for mobile line and even device charges.

after contract and just pay up ur outstanding bill and after port over, contact Singtel via WhatsApp (one of the option) and ask for excess payment refund.

They have the following refund options with Approx turnaround time.
balance transfer 1 week
PayNow 2 weeks
Bank account/cheque/ CC chargeback 3-4 weeks

Btw Maxx is prepaid or post paid?
currently I’m under M1 bespoke plan, $22.xx with 100gb and some talktime / sms.
thinking of porting out and back to M1 maxx because of the 2gb MY roaming, CallerID and at lower price for this secondary line.
