why didnt you get outside aircon companies to repair? they have so much spare parts.

its already 6 years old, even if thermistor ok, sooner or later something else will fail due to age/wear and tear.

do you also send your car to the authorised agent to service after warranty expires?

What tokking you? My 17 years old Mitsubishi still going strong. A leftover from the original owner of my resale Flat. No problems at all.
hows your electrical bill like?

my resale also left over a system 3 fujitsu. >15 years old. very cold also. but kan pua see bei jiak dian. first month use, electricity only $270. monitor again 2nd month also around the same. dont have other heavy consumption appliances apart from the fridge which is new.

my friends place using starmex or daikin also (2-3 years old) system 3 daily use at most $150 nia. i changed to daikin after doing some calculation. assume savings of $150 a month x 12 mths = $1.8k. 2 years = $3.6k. new system 3 daikin was only $2700 when i did mine. no brainer to change. if i can use >5 years, i already saved.

electricity came down to $100-120 average now.

My 10+ year old Mitsubishi electric aircon compressor spoilt causing one fcu not to respond. Technician said the board no more stock and out of production so cannot fix. Wasted $100 just to call them down and fix nothing. Now only the other FCUs working, will use until totally spoil.

6 years is actually not a long time for a multi split system. THe daikin i bought in 2007 for my parents place lasted around 12 years. But this daikin i bought in 2016 is really regret. Its quality totally down the hill. The support which is the most important aspect of aircon service life also cmi.
Five years ago, I engaged aircon contractor to install system 3, I ask for Daikin, he advised me not to, say not very liable after they shifted their production to Thailand.

i agree with u, cos i am also using daikin

my first daikin lasted 17 years before it uplorry.

i also installed this new daikin and changed all the piping in 2016.

thru out the years, i already serviced / repair 3-4 times. not the compressor tho. rather the fan unit itself.

i every 3-6 mths will call ppl come down do a thorough cleaning and maintenance.

i think next aircon shall be mitsubishi liao.
Same here. I have Daikin and now regreted also. Spare parts hard to find the directional fins so easily broken. Their stupid app also very flaky.

My daikin 3 tick (non inverter) still running fine >15yrs.
I think the inverter type easily spoil -- main pcb cannot stand the strain.

But overall still the inverter saves a lot if you turn it on longer than 8 hrs.
I guess mine not more than 6hrs a day (3 rooms on a multi split system 4)

the technician told me this ,
now all the new Aircon invertor or Simi 4 tick 5 tick one all CMI. cannot last. rather go buy back those w 3 tick.

Usually this type or rating thing buy the middle ground like 2 tick or 3 tick because that is optimal solution. The higher one they will compromise thing to qualify for the extra tick.

Is the same logic as buffet. U eat until 3/5 full then just nice happy. When u force & eat until 5/5 full u feel like puking and uncomfortable

Last time when i buy AC, 4 tick just came out..I ask my ac installer..He say dont bother, they basically tweak the 3 tick so that it jiak less power to get 4 tick..end up cool down slower but you pay more for that tick..

Roughly rem this is what he mention..

My Starmex use 24/7, but every month must clean FCU or else it's not cold.
After cleaning the coil, then it gets cold again. A bit troublesome.
