If it’s my first house, if I have never been in charge of a kitchen, I would be worried over that 4cm hole. In fact, I would be worried over any hole on the table top.

If you ever had the experience of having a tabletop space occupied by one huge lukewarm water jug (for family use), one small lukewarm water jug (for kid’s use), one hot water flask and one electric kettle for close to two decades, you would realise a 4cm hole is nothing worth being anxious over compared to the 45cm x 45cm space you lose for placing those bulky water vessels

You think you have a proper table top for alternative use. Then where would you move all your jugs, flask and kettle to? The most I did was to push them to the wall, which is another few cm of space, so that I could cut my vegetables or meat.

Even if in the future I want to change to another dispenser, what I would do is to station the new one over that hole. We rarely change where we place our appliances. The other dispensers are monstrous compared to Wells The One so I am sure they would cover up that hole comfortably.
one assumption u made is to just put the new water dispenser over the hole. other dispensers are not built like the one where the tubes are directly below the dispenser. the tubes are typically behind it instead but maybe u can be lucky enough to find one that is also direct below like the one.

so u can visualise next time u change to another dispenser and there is a visible 'big' hole behind the machine. but hey if u do not find that ugly then that's fine.

end of the day, u happy can liao. we are just providing some foresights for consideration. cheers.

But the water dispenser still needs to sit on the table top, right? Whether it will use the same hole is inconsequential. The huge body will cover the hole.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s worth fretting over that hole on the table top when there are other parts of the house that would have more unsightly and uncoverable parts to worry about.

Like to share my unpleasant experience with Happie SG Pte Ltd, a CaseTrust accredited company.

I'll just keep it short to avoid putting up a wall of text...

So we happened to dropby Happie showroom at Northtar@AMK.

Sales guy was very friendly, intro-ed the Joy model to us, explained the benefits, its quality as compared to other models blah blah blah.

Then offered us a promo price, with extra sets of filters etc etc. Told us GST increasing the next day, but we can put down a $200 deposit and in case we are unable to install the water dispenser, they can refund us. Kept reiterating about the deposit so we locked up the promo price n goodies etc.

So our impression was that if we can change our mind we could get back the deposit.

So we put down the deposit via PayNow.

After a few days they contacted us to arrange an installation date. We told them place still renovating so cannot. I checked back with the sales guy by when we need inform if we have a change of mind. He told us we can have our time, no need to worry.

So indeed, due to some complications n restrictions, we decided against installing the water dispenser.

We contacted back their WhatsApp business account number about our change of mind. They asked us to wait, have to check with management.

We waited almost a week, got back to them again and was told that management will get back to us.

As we were busy with the new house, we did not press them for the response. Someone finally called me back, but she only the admin handling refunds. She told us in order to process the refund, they have to send installer to our place to confirm indeed cannot install then can refund as this is their SOP. I rejected them instantly, told them no one told us about what SOP. She said she will check with management again.

Till today the management have not given us an official answer. And that sales guy has also left Happie SG.

We have lodged a complaint with CASE. See how it goes.
I went down to the Happie showroom today wanting to see and buy the undersink filter and got upsold to the Joy model.

Put in the deposit of $200 and reading about your situation, i re-looked at the email receipt and one line stated "3. The deposit shall not be refundable."

Salesperson never talked about "being able to refund deposit" but as i am progressing towards your situation, i am getting concerned.

I just learnt from reading this forum that the Joy model needs a discharge outlet pipe, and was wondering how it works, as my kitchen now unrenovated and i thought can just put on a portable table. I got two short pipes sticking out of the ground for discharge but they are like 5cm to 6cm wide and i suppose the discharge pipe looks much smaller?

Is it possible to elaborate on your complications and restrictions?

If there are anyone who had Joy model, can help take a look and let me know how yours discharge?

Hello Nicnamaik,

Thanks for making this comparison!
If you don’t mind, there is some stuff I would like to add / correct.

I would like to add that our dispenser’s nozzle, hot / cold water pipe is made of stainless steel

1) Happie’s Joy is $1688 nett for white and $1788 for silver ( price inclusive of GST and installation )

2) e use to give 3 years of filter but after 1st July 2023, we have made some changes to our package so there is only 2 years of free filter ( 1 + 1 ) ( lucky for those who purchase before that! :p )

3) Purchasing Happie’s Joy comes with lifetime warranty for all machine parts and 1 year for our LG compressor.

4) 1 set of filter cost $200, which include delivery + labour to change and a 15 point check for the internal parts to make sure the dispenser is all good!

5) There is an inlet and outlet for Happie’s Joy. Inlet is for your drinking water and outlet is for the dispenser to discharge out the water from the flow path and filter that our dispenser will automatically sterilise every 7 days so therefore an outlet is required.

6) Cons : not enough colours 🥲
@Happie Joshua maybe you can help elaborate on point 5 discharge outlet. How does it connect to the drain? My unrenovated kitchen got two pipes of diameter 5cm to 6cm sticking out while i see video (no details on the discharge process though), your discharge pipe is very small?

I tried a Happie dispenser yesterday at a friend's place. The delay in dispensing hot water (85 degrees) is about 5-8 seconds. The touch buttons are not very responsive.
Yes I agree with you the touch button is totally useless.

To me the cold temps are important. So far the lowest a brand can do is 4c. Not sure why can’t it be lower like 2-3c as my experience of using such machine is that the coldest is just achievable for that few second of dispense and the more it dispense the less cold it will get. The part (motor?) that is making water cold will also get less effective/efficient over time too. This is why I only go for those that can do 4c and below.

I see this cuckoo brand only mention specs about hot temp but no info about cold temp at all throughout the entire web so when the salesperson told me it can do 4c I am already quite skeptical Liao (trying to anyhow smoke).
We have heard from friends who came over that our hydroflux one is really cold. I never measured before though. I don’t take it often but when I do, it’s as good as iced water for me.

Hi all

I have went through every post in this thread, seems like Livingcare/Wells/Hydroflux are rather popular here.

Is there a reliable water dispenser in the market that does not use filters?
I believe SG water is more than safe to drink without additional filtration, and would like the convenience of hot/cold water without paying for filter replacements.

Not likely, most vendors depend on the filters for profit, almost like subscription service.
