Had dinner at Chua Lam's Kitchen on Friday (in Beijing). Food was really good!

Not a dim sum fan. Had the best siew mai ever! The Polo buns and shrimp dumplings were really good as well!

Kongyiji Restaurant was really good too. But I last had it 10 years ago.

You can always do a Google search. A lot of restaurants have closed and a lot have popped up.

The last time I visited Shanghai in depth was during the Expo in 2010. With each visit, I liked it less. From my first visit in 2005 until recently, things have changed so much and so rapidly. I don't think I will visit again unless it is in transit to go somewhere else in the vicinity, like Nanjing and Hangzhou.
I kinda agree with you.

I've been to The Temple of Heaven. I actually would recommend it. But I went in 2012.

I frequent Beijing. I'm now in Beijjng. Actually I'm in Inner Mongolia now. Drove here from Beijing this morning. Will be driving back to Beijing tomorrow.

For first timers, would recommend Wangfujing, the Prince Gong's Mansion, 798 and Qianmen.

Will be going to Fragrant Hill this Friday.
Will the autumn colors still be there at Fragrant Hill in mid Nov?

Hi TS

I'll be going to Shanghai with my son in Nov and the taking train to Beijing too after. Approximately 4 days each so our itinerary is similar!

Thanks for starting this thread!

Thanks.

Just me and my wife.

Shops some cheaper than sg clothes if possible
Only Chinese brands are worthwhile in comparison.
Septwolves, Yishion, Li Ning, Meters / Bonwe are mid-market casual to smart casual choices.

Beijing - Qianmen
Shanghai - Tianzifang

Suggest that you stay in Shanghai and do day trips to Hangzhou and Suzhou.

You have yet to look at the prices of the high speed trains and hotels in Beijing ya?
Is one day trip to Hangzhou too rush?
