When something involving the US Congress and Mike Johnson showed up on TV, my MIL went about making this remark, "Why would people vote Republican? They are just like gangsters. Like that Donald Trump!"

Then I replied, "The world is turning crazy with all these nonsense about BLM, feminism, LGBT and tree hugging climate activism. Perhaps the Republicans are closer to a voice of reason than those who panders to the aforementioned, blowing off trillions on non-issues, making the world more divided than ever."

Is true. Republicans in US are the conservatives lol. Democrats are the woke group and nonsense save the planet

Certainly no. US president is supposed to be an elected leader and respect the institutions, but he did his role like a dictatorship, many times not even giving face to his fellow party members in the House and the Senate.

Lololol there nothing in the US Constitution that said US president should respected the institution. That's an Asian thing not part of the American culture. Americans loves to make fools out of their politicians. Love to hate their political institutions.

The US founding fathers believe all governments including their are evil. Government are necessary evil. They believe government shouldn't be trusted. That's why the founding father limited the power of the US federal government.

Trump is very popular in the USA because he believes that government is evil and should be limited. He wants to tear it down. This is the opposite of a dictator.

The president of the United States have limited powers. The vast majority of power belongs to the states. Foreign people believe the US president is king. The fact is the president have very little power outside the executive branch. The president doesn't have the power to promote military officers. That power belongs to the Senate.
