As I looked at the lives of people around me, I realized everything in life is all about luck

Just sharing some reflections about life as I look at how differently the lives of some of my friends turn out

Good friend 1
He is a really nice guy and also talented in many hobbies (can cook well, has a professional cert in baking, photography etc). Has taught me many things whenever we hanged out too.
But he is not good-looking and borderline overweight. Hence he is always treated as a tool man by the girls that he likes - they will only make use of him when needed and then dump him aside.
But those are secondary... the worst thing is he recently got diagnosed with cancer and is now fighting the toughest battle of his life.

Good friend 2
He's also a nice guy but basically he does not have any hobbies or talent, just like to stay home and play games when he's free. But his life is really smoothing sailing.
He does not really socialize much, but somehow he managed to meet a pretty girlfriend from a rich family and they got married recently. Not only that, he landed a high paying job in management level by chance too and is now doing very well in his career. So around 5 years+ he was doing the same job as me at a call centre, but today he is a senior manager. And he doesn't have any special skillsets or experience, it was just good timing & luck, one thing leads to another.

I realized that the Heaven really has its favourites. Some people are just super unlucky - like they are already born with a huge disadvantage, for example come from poor family and looks ugly etc, and on top of that, still strike by serious illness. Really no end of bad luck.

And some people really everything smooth sailing all the way....

I used to believe in that too. But I realized no, it's really about luck and whether Heaven/God like you.

Imagine you are born fat & ugly plus strike with multiple health conditions... no matter how positive your attitude is, how hard you work, you will always remain at the lowest level in life.

And some people is like they blindly draw cards but every game they get 21 points... how to not win at life?

Some people if fate smile upon them they become rich. Like Jay Chou, actually is his friend pull him to be pianist for his singing performance and Jay was reluctant to join at first. If he didn't go that contest he would likely still be a waiter not the super rich superstar we all know and if he waiter won't have such chio wife like Hannah. It's all Heavens plan.

He also sought opportunities and put in hard work? He approached celebrities to show them his work when he was a waiter. Then he did saikang for Jacky. Jacky tekan him, gave him a big challenge, but he did it.

Well if you believed life is just based on luck, then just lie flat and carry on whining others have better luck than you. Don't even bother to buy toto since you believed luck is everything in life and apparently luck will never be with you.

But actually we live in Singapore our luck cannot be super bad until where don't need hiam so much. Imagine you are farmer in North Korea or slave in Africa. Earn peanuts. Most of us is poor or average in Singapore standard but compare rest of the world is better than many le.
