They only go after the top generals.

That is why the wartime emperor was not prosecuted for any war crimes. He himself could take up the full rap for the entire Japanese military while those responsible for the war could get away scot free.
The Americans basically wanted to rebuild Japan and not let it fall into communists hands so didn't F Hirohito up
Probably was racist too and didn't think millions of Chinese and Asians killed was that big a deal

Basically he and his Royal buddies got away with it
Yes they did

The Nazis were basically F
Realistically they didn't stole 10 billion worth of gold and billions of art and ran
How to run?
Put 100 tons of gold bullion in submarine and run all the way to Argentina?

The Japanese?
Well... let's just say Marcos was corrupt
Corrupt as shite and didn't "dig up" Yamashita's Gold like it was buried in his backyard

If this is LeeKY is the translator, then this article is full of rubbish written by IBs. if he's so patriotic, why didn't he join Force 136 to fight the japs? And rather by a coward working for the enemy. With this, he lost all rights to tell us that we need to defend the country with our lives.

To me, his role as translator is one that translates the anti japs and innocent civilians to the japs, leading to their massacre.
Uhh he was 19 when Japanese came
OK old enough to die for country

looks terminal 3 gates b1-10 were the massacre site. but that place not eerie at all. so many travellers everyday
The site should be further down near where Changi Prison is.

Using the T1 runway (which was built by the japs using the pows) as reference, the entire stretch forms the Changi military area, unlikely the massacre took place within it. It should be out of the camp's boundaries. The very likely spot is near the prison, where there are many civilian houses.

This was along the beach. The original Changi Air Base runway was more East-West than today's runway which is more North-South, was shorter and was nearer to the airbase. The Sook Ching site location on the map was publicly accessible until they decided to build Changi Airport. There were villages and chalets there all the way until 1970s.

Any1 keen to meet and explore these places on bike? After that can jiak HDL supper.
Explored the area donkey years ago when the Changi camp area was still open concept. Anyone can just drive in. Now fenced up and nothing much to explore. The old colonial barrack buildings there all demolished already, except for 2.

The smaller scale air force museum was there before shifting to Paya Lebar.

Got this feeling maybe there could had been more massacre sites or mass graves back then but wasn’t recorded in the history books since the war occupation happened for 3 years and 7 months.
For sure. All the sites are based on eye witness accounts and maybe during digging for construction. There were alot of ulu places in the 1940s for sure.

This graphic from ST shows all the known sites. Although for Tanah Merah Beach they incorrectly state that it is now part of the runway when the old shoreline is now where T3 is. The numbers are also quite low compared to the research done by academics.

Think should be all official
That's the right way

Once the local Chinese sub contractor clear forest and dig abit and see skeletons, should be informed government and all the officials step in plus all the priests and temple mediums etc come in to perform ceremonies

TIagong in the crucible of war, amidst the chaos and uncertainty of the Second World War, a singular act of heroism unfolded—a story not widely known, yet emblematic of the courage and resilience that would shape the destiny of a man named LeeKY.

The year was 1944, and the Japanese occupation weighed heavily on the inhabitants of Singapore. In the midst of the turmoil, a clandestine group of resistance fighters found themselves in a perilous situation. Ten brave souls, united by a shared determination to defy the oppressors, had gathered in a secret meeting place to plan a daring act of rebellion.

Unbeknownst to them, their clandestine meeting had been betrayed. The Japanese, with their ruthless efficiency, had discovered the plot and devised a sinister plan to quell the uprising. As the resistance members gathered, a grenade was hurled into their midst, threatening to snuff out the flame of their defiance.

Amidst the confusion and panic, it was LeeKY who instinctively reacted with unparalleled courage. In the face of imminent danger, he leaped toward the deadly projectile, his body a shield against the impending devastation. The world seemed to slow as the grenade exploded, and in that moment of sacrifice, Lee absorbed the brunt of the blast.

The air was thick with smoke and debris, and as it settled, a miraculous scene unfolded. LeeKY, battered and bloodied but miraculously alive, lay amidst the wreckage. His body had shielded the others from the worst of the blast, sparing them from the fate that had befallen so many others who dared to defy the Japanese occupation.

The ten individuals, shaken but alive, looked upon Lee with a mix of gratitude and awe. His selfless act of valor had not only saved their lives but had become a symbol of resistance—a testament to the indomitable spirit that refused to be extinguished even in the darkest hours of war.

Word of LeeKY's heroism spread quietly, whispered among those who dared to dream of a free Singapore. The resistance, fueled by the spark of hope ignited by that fateful night, continued its struggle against the oppressors. Lee, forever changed by the scars of war, would go on to play a pivotal role in the shaping of a nation—a leader whose legacy would be etched not only in the history books but in the hearts of those who had witnessed his selfless bravery in the face of adversity.
Lol nice satire bro

Lky is the last person anyone wld associate as a war hero.

In fact he ran to genting to hide when he knew japs were bout to surrender.

Part of the East-West runway is still remaining today. If you look at Google Earth, it is yhe spot where you can see a few maritime patrol aircrafts parking side by side.

I am not surprised if some of these incidents were hushed up. In those days no mobile phone cameras and social media.

It was still shorter, and the the shoreline was still public with Nicoll Drive following the shore, ie the base area did not extend to the shore. The runway ended somewhere before the main T3 building.
