i knew it. 1% increase in GST will leader to 10% in prices of many items..

Becos along the way, each supplier jerk up the prices and then so if the item goes thru 5 distribution chain it means start with 1% increase becomes 1% x 5 = 5% increase when it reaches the final producer then producer charge 5% on top of that becomes 10%

Let us all consolidate all this unhappiness and blame it on PAP if their gahmen cannot fix these profiteering problems.

Then again, never underestimate the kumgongness of the 70% sinkie.
Bro don't waste your time putting in so much effort. The ground is sweet, majority r happily living a comfortable life

Many netizens expressed dissatisfaction at the new price tags on their meals, describing it as being "super expensive".

"Common food, atas prices," one user on Hardware Zone said, addressing Toast Box's menu.

Bewildered, another user agreed: "These are crazy prices."

Some also feared these price changes are merely the start - once the new GST rate kicks in, they speculate that prices would rise even further.

Responding to queries from Shin Min, an Old Chang Kee spokesperson explained that majority of their price adjustments were about 10 cents.

"While our product prices do include GST, the main reason for our recent price changes is that Singapore is facing economic challenges that have impacted the operating expenses of many businesses including Old Chang Kee," the spokesperson said.

These expenses comprise of supply costs, rent, labour and other aspects of their business.

Remember, we are only irked.

TBH, those who complained after the 10cent increase, don't think their lives before are everyday big fish big meat. A 10cents increase won't make you turn from doing ok to super poor.

I think there was some council monitoring for this behavior ? Still "monitoring" and doing nothing as usual?
