Spheredome is so right.
In the case of the
Dreame L10S Pro Ultra Heat, the
Hot Water washing feature is only to wash the mop. And even then,
the water is lukewarm at best. I even did a personal test of removing the robot vacuum immediately after it washed the mop pads and touched the pads. They were just lukewarm.
Another issue that I had is with the
Auto Detergent Dispenser.
This feature is useless.
First of all, I was wondering why I wasn't getting the same smooth and slippery flooring with my vinyl flooring like I did with the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra after it finishes mopping a room and drying. In fact, it felt a bit stickier.
The reason finally makes sense. Because just like with the hot water washing the mop feature, the detergent
is only for washing the mop. And even then, it is such a little amount or not even working, that my detergent container is still around full after a few uses and also,
the mop pads smelt bad with no hint of the floor detergent that I used.
In the end, I had to add the floor detergent into the water tank itself like I did with my Roborock vacuums. So that even the water being dispensed slowly while cleaning will introduce the floor detergent solution to the vacuum while cleaning.
It already took 98 mins to clean my entire house vs the Roborock's 70 mins.
Imagine if I had to let the robot vacuum keep on returning to the dock to wash the mop over and over to have that slight hint of a detergent on the mop pad (or none at all based on my results) before it returns to cleaning increasing the time further from 98 mins.
The issue that I had is that the
mop pads dries up fast even with the
water being dispensed to the mop throughout the cleaning.
This, versus the flat mop pads that were still damp and you can visibly see traces of a wet floor with the Roborock S8 thanks to the even distribution of water to the pads.
But what about the end results you might say? The
increased suction power meant that on the 2nd to low vacuum level (probably called Standard for most robot vacuums) even though below the max 7000rpm, does a great job with the
carpets. They
were fluffier thanks to the fur being pulled up. And they feel
nice to step on.
On hard floors, their performance is no different to the Roborock S8 with it's lower suction power on the same 2nd to low setting. Mostly
some strands of hair just
refuse to be picked up by both vacuums.
With the
robot vacuuming and mopping at the same time, for hard floors, they are about equal. Same final result.
Floor felt clean with no particles felt on your feet.
But only issue is like I said, the floor
felt a lot
stickier on the Dreame L10S Pro Ultra Heat vs the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra.
I
highly recommend still adding your
floor detergent solution into the
water tank as the Auto Add Detergent feature is really just a gimmick that is only meant for washing the mops instead of cleaning the floors with detergent. And like I said, I can't smell any hint of my floor detergent on the mop pads after it finishes washing the mop anyway. So to ensure that there will always be floor detergent, you'll have to manually add it into the water tank.
Thus, making the 2 features of the Dreame L10S Pro Ultra Heat completely useless and is more for show than it having any practical use.
Lastly, that huge
4L water tank is
used up so fast. No wonder they need a huge tank. It uses a lot of water even in the Light Washing mode. I
need to top up the tank way sooner than I did with the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra even though the S8 has a smaller tank.
So something to take note of if you are not attaching it to your water pipe + drain and are using the water tanks.
