Then I ask him about retirement plans and what not, he is always evasive. Then come the Eunos warehouse opening ceremony dinner at Ubi. Turns out the dinner was for Limpang Active Aging Club at Bukit Batok Civil Service Club restaurant. You see lar!

Here the currency is man hours and cost savings.

Very hard to convince them to introduce things that add to man hours in the short term. But long term will have savings. Esp when it will take years to realise.

lol i remember this story.. this system engineer keep introuce bugs only he can solve. so he is the star employee.

Haiz sad. I recall got one consultant tried to kope the corp laptop and fly back to Europe. Think end up we withheld his payment until he guai guai DHL back the laptop.

This one probably only possible in smaller outfits. Larger ones should have processes in place to prevent it.

Anyway system engineer no need to engineer bugs as long as the env is large and consists of many different integrated systems. Bugs will find you.

In such places star player are those who find bugs and fix them before it causes any financial loss to the company.
