where got so cheap. The last I was looking, 3room is asking for close to 600k or more in most matured and some ulu estate.

At this rate with the government still insist with going by the bto route and not building more housing, and continue letting people profiting from public housing, housing will just continue to be more expensive.

only way to solve is for government to come in hard. But we all know government only care about having continue power and not offending people.

Those who buy 3r would already have rent out 1r or consider renting our 1r/whole flat in the future. Why not 4r?

If 3r affordable, who wouldn't want the extra r for parents? But given the price, is difficult even.

At the same location with similar remaining lease, resale price of a 3r and a 4r can be a difference of at least $150k-$200k
It takes many many years to clear that price difference if one values privacy
Otherwise, just 3r should be good unless one wants an entertainment room

Anyway, my said colleague from Yishun bought his 4r at $300k back in 2019 ,very affordable ,not sure is he selling upon MOP this year

4r of the same area can be sold above $600+k
4r at prime location with 50+ years of lease left can get at such pricing too

I think that to rent or not to rent should be a decision in the beginning. I am very sure I do not want to rent. I mean, why make things complicated?

Renting, rent when cannot tahan mortgage, rent whole house then move back to stay with parents etc...
I don't want to make complicated but that's just me . As simple as possible

If you want to be loan free, then have to complicate things by involving tenant to pay for you

Otherwise just spend $150k and 5 years of wait on a 2r bto

Actually 2019 was a low year. My frd also bought 5 rm resale sambawang.. 330k..
