Seems like msia's technology long lasting as compared to sg's.

TnG cards ìn place sknce 1997, and till jo3w don't need replacement. Sg gov need to learn from msia to design and implement a cost effective system. Sg really sliding down to 3rd world.

As reported, the $40m is not meant to implement SimplyGo. It's meant to extend the life of the aging EZ-Link system. Please get your facts right before opening a thread.
Very keen to know how they derived with the 40 million.

If it is the card readers and cards, can't they procure more of it now to last for the future.

Hope to see the ERP2 system crash when start operations.

Looking at all the delays, the equipment behind the scene should have been obsolete. Wonder how much LTA is paying to maintain these old systems?

He can afford to pay for F1 tickets and EPL tickets

if he cannot afford to pay for these with his monthly salary

then really is corrupt

he really is innocent, since he can afford all these with his salary, so he is fighting to clear his name

Low pay more likely to be corrupt, high pay deter corruption
You understand the meaning of corrupt? Go google to read the definition

Actually singapore . Some shops also have .
Scan qr code and no need key in the amount but I think cost a lot to implement for the shop

Cheapest way will be scan qr and key in amount.

All except credit card link? I'd much rather be able to use my credit/debit card to pay directly for all of these, than to hold another card (whether TnG or EZ-Link) which I need to top up with money.

You can link one CC and set to auto reload to TnG e-wallet~ you can preset the reload amount~ eg. reload rm100 each time it falls below rm20 (the threshold can be set also)~ :s22:

TNG is a pain, at least until recently.

Don't use the card for a year it expires. I wonder how many had their balance forfeited due to **/MCO.

One can recover the balance ..... at the bigger toll stations where there is a TNG office.

I think today is better... can link the card to the TNG app and do a virtual top up.

This is the correct assessment.

This is over simplified things.

Just give you one example. RFID is tagged to tng wallet. Physical tng card cannot link to RFID simply because it's not a cloud based card. RFID gantries are mostly in Selangor only. If I enter nshw from KL and tried to exit nshw by Johore where RFID gantries not available, I should be stuck. To use RFID, Singapore cars need to register and install the VEP+ RFID which is totally scrapped now. So how Singapore cars can have RFID? I don't know.

Since I need to enter and exit tolls without RFID, I can only use the physical tng cards which will works on all toll booths but not linked tng wallet.

So, I have to keep maybe RM200 on my physical tng card anytime.

If I need to activate tng wallet, which I still don't know how to do that with VEP+RFID for Singapore cars scrapped. Should I still be able to activate somehow, I will have to keep another RM200 on tng wallet which can only be used in Selangor. Them keep another RM200 on the physical tng card. That's a totla RM400 stuck in TNG. That's a big mess and toly unnecessary for most Singapore car owners. As far as I know, the only sure fire ways, that works for most Singapore, just junk the tng wallet and waste RM200 to be kept in the physical tng card.

Sorry, you are mod, please do not issue points to me, for just having different opinions than yours.

TnG card & its e-wallet app check many boxes~

its ezlink + toll + Paynow + Parking SG + book movie + food delivery (limited selections) + bill payment etc~ :s22:

This has actually nothing to do with TnG. All banks, even Grab and Shopee allow this.

Just tell LTA you want this function in SimplyGo, and it can do it too. Not something very difficult. Probably much less than 40 million. It can even release a SimplyGo Visa if Singaporeans are interested. Just be prepared for the old EZLink to be retired, because the old EZLink is not compatible with these.

That's the next best thing. But I'd rather just be tapping my credit card to pay. No need to keep money in this e-wallet and that e-wallet. Credit cards are also universal and especially convenient for foreign visitors. No need to buy this card and that card when visiting the country.

Side track, just asking if you know any night market in Penang? Is it every nigh? Or a street of street food also can, no need pasar malam

Penang got the Macallum St, but only open on Monday night. Also have the Kimberly St night market.

Kimberly St traffic is not closed so it’s really busy. Unlike Jonker St in Melaka, they seal off the roads from Friday night onwards

If you need high pay to deter corrupt. You are already corrupted from the start. Full corruption from day 1
