So I can continue using existing 2x mx4200 (since all are WIFI6 only) and 10gbe lan port directly to my gaming pc ?

1) If you do not bridge the Nokia ONR, yes you can continue using your two Linksys Velop MX4200, but you may want to change the Velop to run in Bridge mode so as not to cause Double NAT, since Nokia XGS-PON ONR is now the main router.

Nokia ONR 10G LAN port -- Gaming PC with 10G NIC or 2.5G NIC (Network Interface Card)
Nokia ONR AX6000 WiFi -- SSID 1
Nokia ONR 1G LAN port -- Linksys Velop MX4200 main node (Bridge mode), SSID 2
Nokia ONR 1G LAN port -- Linksys Velop MX4200 mesh node, Ethernet backhaul
Nokia ONR 1G LAN port --otherwired device if any (like Smart TV)

2) If you are using wireless backhaul, then it is like the following.
Nokia ONR 10G LAN port -- Gaming PC with 10G NIC or 2.5G NIC (Network Interface Card)
Nokia ONR AX6000 WiFi -- SSID 1
Nokia ONR 1G LAN port -- Linksys Velop MX4200 main node (Bridge mode), SSID 2 -- wireless -- Linksys Velop MX4200 mesh node
Nokia ONR 1G LAN port --otherwired device if any (like Smart TV)

Double NAT

4) If you bridge the ONR, you need to get a new 10G capable router to utilize the bandwidth.

Hi guys, I decided to buy an GT-AX11000 Pro on carousell and hook it up to my Starhub Nokia ONT using the 10Gbps port as WAN. I've been getting the above speeds from the ASUS WebGUI speedtest itself. Is this because the router cannot handle the 10Gbps speeds by the ONT or is this something which I should get Starhub to look into?

Unfortunately I do not have another 10Gbps device which I can use to test out the direct connection speed from the ONT. My other devices are maxing out at 2.5Gbps so actually I don't need more speed but since I am on the 10Gbps trial, thought I should at least get as much as possible when I do the speedtest... hahaha =P

This is normal. The CPU inside GT-AX11000 Pro (BCM4916 CPU) can not handle SpeedTest app well for 10Gbps. But the router itself can work with the MR XGS-PON ONT to get about 8.2Gbps (or around there). You have to use a PC/Mac with 10G Network Interface Card (or Network Adapter) for the OOkla SpeedTest if you want to make sure you get the normal speed.

Just to make sure, you may need to check if you enable any QoS settings and then disable them and see if that makes any differences.

Well just go to the LAN card properties to check the link speed will know. My link speed is 10G/10G now. It is browser can not handle it well for 10Gbps internet.

If your main goal is to test/fully utilize the 10gbps, then you need 10gbps NIC/devices, there is no way around it

Read the question once more, sit and relax, or have some coffee, then check if your answer makes sense.

Help bros...
sorry I am a noob

I just got the 10GB internet,
I connect the 10GB to a 10 GB switch and then connect to my rooms.
but its not getting any signal at all. not sure why.
is it because MyR block the usage of 10GB switch?

thank u so much in advance

No signal meaning the connections in the rooms aren't able to establish the link? --> That'd be a physical media problem, you can test with direct connection to the switch
Or no signal meaning the link establishes, the network interface comes up but you aren't able to connect to anything? --> Check if you get any IP from DHCP and if so, test pinging your router's IP to narrow the problem down.

Thanks @xiaofan for the advice. I guess I will just live with this as just "backside itchy" to see close to 10Gbps since I subscribe to the Ultraspeed plan. Haha. My desktop with 2.5Gbps link to AX11000 Pro through MOCA already gets around 2.2Gbps internet speed liao so I shall just be contented. Haha! Thanks again! =P

How do you connect the 10G switch?

MR is usng ONT and you need to have the router before the 10G swtich.
MR ONT -- TP-Link 10G capable router given by MR (Archer AXE300 or Archer BE805) -- 10G switch.

The other way around will not work.
MR ONT -- 10G swtich -- TP-Link 10G capable router

hi Sir, thank u

the technical told me to do

Because I need to connect the 10G switch to other room. so the only way is thru the nettling box .....

any solution bro

update: I just talk to technical team, they say my switch box have to have DHCP .. not sure but I got the TP link SX1008 switch...

That doesn't sound right, SX1008 is an unmanaged switch, so do this:
1. MR ONT:10Gbps port ---- AXE300:WAN 10G port,
and if you want to share the 10G downlinks to each of your rooms you'd connect:
2. AXE300:LAN 10G port ---- SX1008:any port,
and just connect the rest of the rooms to the other ports on the SX1008 switch accordingly

uh....

In most cases, bar some esoteric setup (you wouldn't be asking for help here if you have an esotetic setup), you'd need the router in front of the switch because your switch won't be able to NAT the connection from your ONT.

Its either this or you somehow source a managed 10gbe switch, then route vlan traffic to pass NAT over to the router, then back to the switch to the patch panel. And that is a huge pita

Ya, but the thing is if he knows how to do this he won't be asking. 🌚 Also why I said "bar some esoteric setup".

His initial post doesn't come off as someone who knows his way around things and my response is crafted with that in mind.

Plug the ONT into the left most RJ45 WAN, which is covered up, so just open and use it.

From the other 10gbps RJ45 LAN port, which is in the middle, plug into your switch.

I managed to resolve the problem I was facing on my ONR, it turns out that all I need to do is to reset my ONR and set it to bridge, restart and walla, now everything works!

Am putting it here, so that others know what to do if they encounter the same issue as I do...
