Guys, what do you guys think of Western games targeted at 'Modern Audiences' aka 'Woke Games'? I'm sure many among us have noted that female characters in most newer games have been 'uglified', looking androgenous with male features, like more square set jaws and less curvy bodies.

I've even read that these female characters are rendered this way to 'avert' the male gaze, because men are such perverts (allegedly) but another theory that I find to be more credible is to further the trans agenda. How? Well, with the western countries, like the US where many games are made/published, female characters are either uglified, or OP (like Mary Jane) or both (look at SBI influenced Unknown 9: Awakening where female character is ugly and powerful).

I find myself getting less and less interested in newer games, even Dead Space Remake (I love the OG Dead Space) has an uglified female in Nicole Brennan (old with manly features) vis-a-vis OG Nicole Brennan. I've noted that PS exclusive games are less drawn into this bullcrap, titles like Stellar Blade, Vindictus: Defying Fate and The First Descendants all look good to me, so I'll be getting a PS5 Pro end of year or early next year. I've pretty powerful rigs which I'll simply maintain and not upgrade any more.

Honestly, western made games simply suck the big huan!!!

Wokeness is in their social culture now. Game studios have lost touch with what gamers want in order to pander to the political correctness crowd.

Not only their games virtue signal by telling you how you need to feel, their gaming communities are as bad as Twitter. Anyone who plays mmos with a large American base who try to engage in game discussions will understand.

I play a lot less games now, when I do, I go for the mindless action and gore games that don't have elaborate stories and characters that need to be woke. Tried to get back into mmos, but after checking in with the communities got turned off and decided it wasn't worth it.

For those who wish to keep up with SBI (aka Craptastic/Woke) games at the Steam site, take note of this Curator who'd created a list of SBI games at Steam only (does not include games at other sites, like Alan Wake II for example). I've followed the thread because I want to keep track of such crappy games.

FYI, I'd mentioned Unknown 9: The Awakening has a main character modeled after Anya Chalotra (Yennifer from The Witcher series), a pretty good looking woman who's NOT white, but then that wasn't enough for these woke monkeys, they had to uglify her....just go watch the YT vids and you'll know what I mean.

I not sure what are the criteria to be consider games made for modern audiences ?
As modern audiences player, my choice are those console like top selling japanese like action rpg, anime rpg and tactical rpg. Their story play, characters and music are well done. :)

There are some who are so good that even without knowing who was involved, based on the characters and situations in the game, they can hazard a good guess as to who was involved. As long as you see uglified women (that is, women looking like trans with square set jaws, androgenous looking bodies, overpowered, can do no wrong, etc) these are characteristics of woke games.

Here's a pic of what they'd changed, from an attractive woman (Stephanie Tyler Jones) to the more square-jawed androgenous or trans looking one. Seriously, do you see any resemblance at all?

I regret pre-ordering Alan Wake 2 (bought it off my experience with the first game, and American Nightmare) without doing any research, had I had known SBI was involved, I'd definitely NOT have bought it. SBI changed the character from a white female to a black woman, of course....

Guys, IF you want to know of games on Steam, subscribe or follow that curator link I'd posted (I'm following it) to know of any game at Steam that has the stink of SBI. A good way to save $$$ on crappy games so that the $$$ can be spent on better non-woke games.

Edit - Don't believe gaming publications like IGN/Polygon/etc, they'll try to gaslight you into believing that SBI and other narrative designers (or whatever they choose to call themselves) that the game studios make all these changes themselves, SBI co-founder made a speech about threatening game studios with bad reviews/press (via gaming mags) and cancellations should the studios not bend the knee to their demands or vision.

Guys, Kabrutus (the excellent man who'd started the Steam curator SBI tracker, has created a new website for those who want info on games that are not only have the stink of SBI, it contains games that are DEI infested.

Some newer games do seem to have changed the way female characters look, probably trying to be more inclusive or avoid backlash. Personally, it doesn't bother me too much, but I get why it can be off-putting if you're used to a certain style.

Neweer games now I feel they are tryiong not to let 'sensitive' audience feel offended. Compared to back in the days where be it humor, pun or gore in-game. it is totally fine as people were generally more chill and have the mindset that "It is jsut a game". Nowadays these so called "modern audience" are simply oversensitive to the slightest things and hence gaming companies gotta consider the feelings of these burden of a group

Sry if my opinion on TS's post might be offensive to some but hey, it an honest view and definitely is for alot people out there

5 "messages". Sleeper account? Who cares, no one wants to buy or even play their games.

These grifters earn the money and the studios close down.

On a related topic, Concord, the Sony/Firewalk Studios game has been canned...most deservedly.
https://blog.playstation.com/2024/09/03/an-important-update-on-concord/

Seems like the myth of 'modern audiences' is true after all, in that there's none. Hope Sony learns a valuable lesson from this, and that buying into all this DEI nonsense is just a big waste of time.

My heart bleeds :rolleyes:for the one of the lead executives at Firewalk Studios, who's gonna call her by her preferred pronoun 'Professor' now? It's likely the studio would have to close due to this failure of epic proportion, imagine creating a game that last all of two weeks before getting shuttered, I believe that is unprecedented and a record!

I guess these bozos would have to be sending out their resumes soon. I'd suggest they leave out any involvement with Concord in there resumes, guaranteed rejection from any game devs that would have otherwise hire them
