Anyone is also using the StarHub UltraSpeed (10Gbps)? I am so frustrated. (Solved by upgrading ONR firmware.)

Yes. I set 8. Just to clarify the CPU 80+% is only when I run speed test, if not the CPU resources is only less than 10% and also I have only around 20 plus firewall rules in mikrotik chr.

Using htop, did the CPU 80+% hogged at a certain core or balance out?

Number of NIC queues should match number of vCPUs.

Also your CPU is only 4c8t right? If you allocate 4 vCPUs to your VM, your host would be starved of CPU cycles.
Especially since you're using linux bridge, your CPU will definitely need plenty of CPU cycles to handle the context switching at higher packet rate.

Yeah 4c8t, no point allocate all vcpu to mikrotik because i still have a layer 7 firewall running in the same host.

Actually I did enable jumbo frame at the internal interface (LAN) and for WAN still MTU 1500 because ISP MTU is 1500, It does help a bit on the packet overhead, before enable I can only get 5gb/s without the layer 7 firewall but after enable, I can get 7gb/s.

I guess if I want to get 7Gb/s with layer 7 firewall, i might need to get another n100 with 10gbe and migrate the layer 7 firewall there.

But still think because I don't really use 7Gb/s all the time but sometimes and do I want to spend that money to buy extra CPU and waste electricity?

Yes. All my 8 vcpu (4c8t) are 80+%. So I guess disable hyperthreading might not help.

Ic, was trying to suggest Irqbalance/smp_affinity tweaks (same concept) which I had experienced from OpenWRT/DD-WRT, but not applicable for your case liao...

Maybe can try having extra CPU cycle gains from disable Processor Vulnerability Mitigation if worth the effort which I did on my N100.

Or a good excuse to upgrade something like bro @TanKianW shiny Minisforum MS-01

Shiny MS-01 still not yet set up.....Buy, out of the box, 3D-print, rack mount liao but still no time to play and set up. Still no completion in sight for my worklab AI/ML workload clusters.....totally no free time with pending work projects at the same time. o_O

Will find some free time to just lazily set it up as a backup (host) node for live migrating between (3) xcp-ng hosts. Copy paste, copy paste. Using it to run cutting edge Linux....like Arch Linux and some Fedora

It is a nice write up. Worth reading might not be useful now but definitely might be useful next time.

At first I also thinking of buying Minisforum MS-01 but still the cost issue, do I really need to achieve 7Gb/s or even better close to 9Gb/s with the extra expenses of close to $1K and the electricity running cost . Or I save that money and live with 4+Gb/s as I don't really use that much of bandwidth everyday.

Yes. Many people too used to 1Gbps internet and this 10Gbps is too new so many do not know what they need to support it. Expected such thing to happen.
yeah. Even myself also though that my equipment is good enough for 10G, who knows after many trial and error then found out that my bottleneck actually is my proxmox host which hosted my router and firewall.

I am typing this with my mobile data. It is 1 month and starhub unable to complete ultraspeed re-con. Angry and ranting.

From this experience, i feel they are bunch incompetence cowards hiding behind their poor call center side. I used since cyberway internet and have never encountered such nonsense.

So i suspect their Backend network team and NLT drag their feet and very irresponsible. Despite the promises of their email team. I want to know who they hired, overpaid cannot solve a resident issue.

So they have their 1633 mainline with basic troubleshooting and then report Backend Network, and this useless BE team supposed to solve without any involvement from me and will pass the message to their call back team 68097000 after 48 hours, who are also bunch of ninja callers, two short rings if you missed, they auto reschedule the calls.

So their nonsense drag cannot solve for a month. Despite reassurance from their AI generated responses from email team that borders on lies and lies and sweet lies about actively escalating monitoring confirming will work.. lies that involve singtel occupying a TP despite never using singtel! Despite copying IMDA and MCI. They feel untouchable by the regulators.

Now without internet after installing the ONT and Router. Their 1633 can detect the ONT but no IP. Want to speak directly to Backend network team to jointly troubleshoot, cannot.

What super angry is the earlier ONT cannot sync appears to be either Network Team or NLT gave the wrong OAC (believe is ONT activation code) to installer. It took them 2 weeks to do something and another week to involve NLT 2nd inspection, 3 installer visits.

Who knows how to contact their ceo network hod, i want to copy their lack of courage too. MCI better audit their processes and productivity before involving any of the 100m investments

where else can i find discussion on ISP ultraspeeds, reddit no active discussions, facebook they hide my feedback like cowards. who else suffering for starhub cowarding behind responsibilites
https://form.gov.sg/5ce4f26d2305a40017faf7c2 have you tried to feedback to IMDA using the form?

Honestly SH call back can not be just two short rings and they can call you via handphone and this is what happened to me when i complain about Intermittent wifi network disconnection. You can call their CSO back if you miss their call and you can not be keep missing their call on your mobile and they also gave you a convenient time to call you. In my case they called me on 12 April 6pm to 7pm as i told them. They will know what to do. I am now waiting for their final call. Just need to call them and ask for call back to your mobile at a convenient time after your working time then you wait for them to call. You can email them to tell them it has been one month and ask them to exercise some service recovery and ask for some compensation for the poor service. Earlier i got $50 for a case of Intermittent wifi network disconnection. It will be based on a case by case basis for such issue. SH is reasonable and resolved my issue. Now same issue and they are working on it again.

Hmmm better to avoid SH then?

Use ST?

Among ST/SH/MR 10Gbps plan, ST probably offers the LEAST VALUE.

1) It is the most expensive at S$86 per month.
2) It uses wired ONR + TP-Link HB810 as AP (addition HB810 at S$16.80 per month).

If you do not mind using an ONR and value stability over other things, then go ahead.

More info about ST 10Gbps plan.

Their calls no use one. They call me back every two days for two weeks. After that one of the times I wasn't at my phone so didn't pick up. Next day they call me back and and I was in the middle of a meeting so didn't pick up.

They say back-end reset bla bla but no difference to me. Unless early morning my downloads only about 4-5Gbps.

4 to 5Gbps download using Chrome or other browsers is normal speed as there is speed cap for browsers. We can expect faster speed when the upgrade of the nation wide infrastructure has been completed. We can tell them to call after office hour. In the real internet world, most site the download speed is usually 1Gbps+ only. Some sites up to 2.5Gbps.
