Moi blood sugar hit 6, doctor tell moi moi ish prediabetic, moi then started making small changes to moi life. A little less white rice here, a bit more veg and fruits there, a bit more walking here and there etc.

See chiur story, moi really dun noe what to say.
I am 60+ , blood sugar head towards 7, mum used to DM on insulin injections by the maid.
So I better take care too like avoid white rice or eat half bowl brown rice on my caifan. More walkings, etc
No joke to be on insulin, go downhill quite fast leh

Seriously, I have no idea which is worse.
Not able to eat the food that you want or having legs amputated and/or kidney dialysis for the rest of your life.

🤔
Eh definitely the latter lah. Legs amputated can do what :o Cannot go travel or go much places locally. Kidney dialysis ish also like very xinku. Kinda like 生不如死 imo.

The food part ah… Some definitely cannot eat, and some can still eat but the cooking style needs to change lor for certain food, which also means the prep and fragrance will change totally. Kinda like a mocked version :o Then need a new diet lor and slowly grow to get used to and like the new diet.

Mybfd so best is to take care of oneself.

Like that is not accurate!

Where is your before breakfast reading?

Can you list down all your meals time?

I only eat 2 times a day, my 1st meal (breakfast) usually between 9-11am, my 2nd meal (dinner) is usually between 5-7pm.

Minimum 4 times a day; best to do 6 times a day.

Before breakfast.
2 hours after breakfast (to see if you overeat)
Before lunch.
2 hours after lunch (to see if you overeat)
Before dinner.
Before sleep.
Please lah. What's the real benefit in testing so many times a day? Not like he need to do this to adjust insulin dose.

Blood sugar was at 11.1 just an hour before the cataract surgery on 20th March due to the CNY goodies plus never took Metformin then (it was at 9 in last aug)

Metformin is taken since 13th March (11.9) ,guai guai took it twice everyday, it dropped 0.8 till 11.1 on 20th March

What I have eaten during my 3 weeks of hospitalization leave;
-jiak 3 pcs of bananas plus 1 whole dragon fruit daily because I was then obsessed with daily fibre intake
-jiak caipng with the ikan bilis and peanuts consecutive for few days (no zhup)
-jiak caipng with other dishes twice everyday (no zhup)
-1x potato chips & 1x spicy tortilla chips
-2x 300ml of 100+ zero
-1x saizeriya BBQ pizza 2 slices
-1x encik tan chicken cutlet curry rice
-1x Carl's Jr fried onion rings
-2x mcdonalds fillet o'fish
-1x unagi rice
-1x BK garlic chicken sandwich
-3x zichar
-3x 80g packs of red spicy tapioca
-1x 油条and 2x butterfly
-black jelly and Tao Huey ,both total at 28g of sugar
-1x YTF curry and 1x YTF with sweet sauce
-1x economic fried black sweet noodle
-2x economic nasi lemak with fried food
-2x ice cream cone type
-1x 老王 sesame chicken with 1.5 bowl rice
-drank 2l of plain water daily

These 7 days after HL ended,
-jiak dimsum buffet ,mostly fried
-1x some sushi rice rolls at sushi express
-1x mixue tall icecream cone
-1x fish & chips with coleslaw
-toriQ 2pcs chicken balls and 2pcs kandang
-1x 蒙古鸡丁饭
-OCK sardine puff & pohpiah
-1x 老王 sesame chicken with 1.5 bowl rice
-1x chicken cutlet fried rice
-2.5 cans of 100+ zero
-half packet spicy belinjo chips
-ate half a large banana just today
-ate whole pack of wasabi nuts
-drink 1.5l of water daily (which should be enough since the colour of my urine is healthy), pangsai also healthy (thick/with cracks)

Felt very bad twice when peeing recently, machiam I would collapse anytime so I sat on the stool for awhile before I left the bathroom

Have just seen the doc earlier on and my blood sugar reading is a freaking 18.3 despite I am taking Metformin and statins everyday
Heart beat at 137 (as of now 100) with normal BP, even did ECG and was told to go for blood test tmr
Doc said I'll uplorry within the next 3 years if I carry on with my current diet
And advised me to go diabetic center to have my legs screened

Since the op on 20th March till today, my blood sugar surged for another 7.2 points!!!!!

My questions, do 100+ zero, white rice and the mentioned fruits caused such a high spike within a month? And how many points can the blood sugar drop with OMAD? Don't want to poke my finger every night unless really no choice since have to keep track

If I never jiak yok, the reading would have been unimaginable sky high

Purpose of this thread is to motivate myself to keep my health on track
I missed my 7.3 reading a year ago and my mood was down but now, I was so shock

If I never online here either means I tio banned or my wife becomes a widow

Expecting scoldings, bashing, more than 30 pages and a lot of shockening reactions from NAO

Height 180
Weight 90

For myself,

Two days after this thread

Your diabetes is not well controlled.

Didn't the doctors or at least the nurses advise you on your diet, the concept of GI (Glycemic Indiex), food substitution whenever you cheat-eat which should only be an exception, a treat?

Or is it that you refused to cur down not only on carbs but carbs which have a high GI?

My advice for you is to eat more wholemean bread, rice...and eat less carbs if you are overweight even if it is wholemeal, and walk more. I will not suggest running and straining your heart and lungs if you are obese and have not been exercising. Start with brisk walking, and bring your weight down.

You may not die, so no RIP for you. Instead, you may suffer a bad stroke and it will be very terrible. Your whole life will be turned upside down.

Do stop binging on the food you like. Stop all those chye tau kway lar, char kway teow lar, fried rice lar...and soft drinks, 100 plus included. Drink plain water. Kopi O kosong.. If you do eat char kway teow, give half to a colleague. If there is no one to give, then throw it away. It's better for you to waste $2 than end up getting a stroke.

Try to do finger prick in toilet, away from kpo colleagues. I want to see your blood sugar reading for before breakfast, before lunch, before dinner and before sleep.
