It’s not user friendly. You can’t use it to pay for your driving lesson, your music lesson, your art lesson. Even if want to take a course, you need to take a part time course. If quit a job then study a full time course, then who support you. If take a part time course is so long winded. Not all course have online options too. It’s very difficult to get the majority to participate. Sometimes you question why so many foreign workers with uni degrees? I guess their course is much shorter than ours so their job experience is much more too. That’s why they are very well demanded here. Our local schools should review on the modules taken by students and which are the more relevant ones. Study so many modules, are they really helpful in the real working environment? Actually after graduating, a lot also have forgotten what they learnt in school. Same for PSLE, O levels and etc, somehow I feel they are focus on the wrong stuff which has directly cause unnecessary stress to students. Last time where got people study so much before working? They also pick up the skill as they work. Today you see a lot of high ranking officers in the bank, but not all actually holds a degree from the start. They just enter in with a cert and work their way up then go for courses to upskill. You ask them to draft an official letter, some can’t even write an eloquent one.
