Tharman is like one of the few that even in his own organization, is not recognized enough.

Imagine you outperform everyone in your organization but some old bird comment "are you ready for an Indian leader" somehow starts a chain reaction that destroys all your chances.

I am sure he does more than Indian suddenly turned Malay and mr KFC.

Well, that old clown LHL said SG is not ready for Indian PM, born and bred in SG somemore.

Yet, he kept insisting Singapore needs to open our legs wide and let in planeloads of his favouritest country Fake Talents, forcing this policy down the throats of Singaporeans who disagree.

I am not against other races at all, if they are really capable. Yet now they nerf Tharman, with a high pedigree as a PM and put him as a puppet President just to block other potential ones that will question their use of Reserves.

SINGAPORE: President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will make a working visit to New York from Nov 27 to Dec 4, his office said on Sunday (Nov 26).

It will be his first official trip as Singapore's head of state.

During his visit, he will deliver a lecture and engage in a dialogue at Columbia University as part of its World Leaders Forum series.

The G30 is an independent global council of economic and financial leaders.

The advisory board for the UN Human Development Report, meanwhile, "provides intellectual advice and guidance on the overall vision, direction and message" of the annual report, the President's Office said in response to queries from CNA.

SINGAPORE: In planning the national budget, the Singapore government stands out among countries for preparing in advance and making sure any spending can be financed, said President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on Friday (Mar 22).

In a Facebook video announcing his approval of the government's spending plans for the coming financial year, which begins on Apr 1, Mr Tharman said Singapore avoids "magical thinking".

He noted how amid ageing populations and the need to invest more to tackle climate change, most countries would have to increase spending in the years to come.

"We have avoided what many countries are doing: Which is to spend first, borrow so they can finance the spending, let government debts rise to unsustainable levels, and hope that revenues will somehow spring up to pay for it later," Mr Tharman said.

"Magical thinking always ends up unhappily."

This is because the next generation gets a "raw deal" as governments have to eventually "come to terms with reality". As a result, said Mr Tharman, government spending is cut, critical public facilities get run down, or taxes are raised to much higher levels.

"That’s simply unfair, and something that our whole system of rules in the Constitution is set up to avoid," he added.

not really, i think is because our govt is most highly paid in the WORLD so I expect WORLDCLASS A+++ result and standard from everything they do. If not why are we paying so much? Just like what we paid is what we get right? If they are lowly paid then i also won't expect so much after all 一份钱一分货。 But this kind of results and say give more time is not acceptable to me honestly. I would say 没那么大的头就不要带那么大的帽，if cannot produce WORLDCLASS result then why dare to draw so much salary from the citizens?
I'm not saying I'm better or I can be president/govt that do better than them but for what we are paying, the result is not clearly acceptable.

In layman term for you, if u pay S$199 jiak high class buffet you will expect seafood like king crabs/lobsters and oysters right? Because you clearly know what you're paying for. But they serve you only normal prawns and clams how would you feel? Vote wisely.
