Intel sold nuc to Asus. Now is Asus nuc with same chassis as intel but asus pricing and software support.

Thanks. Am aware of the arrangement.

But have had experience with Asus many years ago. So trying to see if anyone have other recommendations.

For Beelink, how is the purchase normally made?

Amazon, Shopee, SimLim or their direct website?
Any idea how warranty works ?
I think shopee and lazada have.
This kind of brands u can treat as no warranty even if u buy from them direct. Hit and miss when u run into problems. If is can send u replacement parts, they may.
If want good warranty, Dell Lenovo and HP are best choices, or even Asus and MSI if they've minipcs

get the 12th gen i5 12500t lenovoo/hp/dell mini pc.. I have a few.. no problems so far

Googled and found something like the
- Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 3
- Dell OptiPlex Micro Form Factor
Both priced at around $1K.

Would it make sense if I get a lower end Thinkpad during one of the IT shows?

Not too sure if this is a mini PC. Bought for $500++ I think. Model P30AD

Last year, which was the 7th year, crashed and monitor black screen. Took me 6 hours to figure out how to get my way to the command page to execute a command script. Managed to successfully reset the whole thing. I'm still using now and probably going to up lorry by the end of this year 😅

** I usually let it run till the next morning due to falling asleep. Lost count of the nights

I will recommend to buy from motherboard makers like Asus and Gigabyte. Because the bios update is important to keep your mini PC up to date and compatible. Those familiar with normal PC will know the bios updates from Asus and Gigabyte are good.

One of my no brand China mini PC got stuck in an windows update loop during Windows 8 era... And obviously I couldn't do anything and not expecting the China manufacturer to give any bios update... 9 months later, one of the Windows update miraculously gone pass that weird glitch and proceeded updating windows os again....

Before Windows 10/11 came out of this idea of secure boot and some of the tpm requirements of Windows 11, think better choose your motherboard makers carefully.
