lol u sure or not ?

got people tell me dslr shoot street photo will be given more respect and deem less weirdo suspicious etc … but I wonder if that is true
yea, its just a mindset, hard to change
see dslr = pro

street photo, prefer phone or mirrorless actually, dslr stick out too much like sore thumb. Some people will think you invading their 'privacy' also, machiam paparazzi. I only whip out the dslr in touristy place
Haha, yeah. People asked me to help them use their hp take photos when they see me using a dslr. They thought if you use a dslr, you must be very good with any kind of camera.
yea, encounter this group of korean xmms in spain, alot of people around them with mirrorless and phones, but they never ask anyone, keep looking around. The moment moi put moi dslr down, they ran to me with their phones to ask me help them take lol

aps-c. cursory inspection is decently sharp towards corners at wide open. I had a blast using them in near pitch darkness wide open high iso recently. last trip to jp i wasnt allowed to use tripod for the gundam show or temple night illumination so basically shot them mostly wide open.....
IMHO.
I really must look at Sony because of this. (y)

haha wow good one there.

Reminds me of Korea itself, nobody brings a dslr cos you can't really take streets photos as taking photo of people is an offense there.

contrary in Japan everyone is holding a big camera haha

Afterall Japan is a major camera producing country. If their social practice go against it, it will be quite an irony (and maybe there is already an irony)

I saw someone in Japan holding a film medium format for streets .. still got a pic of him

At their zoos you see the bazookas and artilleries, even ladies also muscle up with heavy gears.

Over here folks use phones.

I am down to Nikon Z5 and Canon R8.

I like Canon for its light weight, smaller size and the flip screen but I prefer Nikon for the colour and the price. And the fact that I get used to using the interface more quickly. I find Canon’s interface not so user-friendly.

The Cathay guy told me Canon interface is almost the opposite of Nikon. He finds that Canon users can easily switch to other brands except Nikon, which they take a longer time to get used to.

I have Peak Design 10L and PGYTECH v2 6L. I think PGY material is softer and feels less bulkier.. 10L really too big and heavy unless u need bring a few lens out.

I use a lowepro slingshot 250.

The mid compartment allows quick access when standing / on the go, can even change lenses relatively "sheltered" .

However if load the bag too much and the single shoulder strap can wear u down.. if you are cycling it works too. But might have to be very careful and sling to the front if going to places where theft is rife.

Classic design looks stunning.

If they come in chrome flavors like the FM2 will be dope.

Lens should be a 40mm f2

Oh yeah, it’s f2. LOL!

Having all of the controls easily available makes photography really fun.

Leica used to make a small digital compact with all of the controls on the top panel like the Nikon. It was called the Leica X2. Really loved that camera, but I ended up selling it because the sensor wasn’t that good. It was the same 16MP APSC sensor as the Ricoh GXR, another camera I loved using with M mount lenses.

This thread makes me wonder why compact cameras with larger sensors are so rare.

The Fuji X100 series is a huge camera, especially for an APSC sensor.

Then there is the GR series, which I think has a fantastic size for a camera with an APSC sensor. If Ricoh comes out with an improved version that address dust resistance, I would buy one.

The moment we move up to full frame, everything becomes too big to be compact.

Still waiting for one the size of the Contax T3.

just help lah, i rather help them then seeing them doing the wefie, jin kelian
btw, i am those types that really enjoy helping others, i believe my pictures will be highly appreciated among all their wefies and thus reduce their urge of going the dreaded wefie way. i will also suggest to them how to pose and stand at which corner to get the better views or turn their faces towards certain angles etc.

but granted i must have the spare time and not in a rush.

Full frame fixed lens compacts are quite ex compared to APSC counterparts. Consumer pie is incredibly small, brands will have to really think twice. Leica Q3, RX1R .. the later is hardly surviving ..

IMHO.
I really must look at Sony because of this. (y)

Sony sensors are " ISOless " / ISO invariant at large stipulated ranges. Certain Nikon, Fujifilm cameras etc uses Sony sensors so they have the same exposure flexibility, challenging the old concept of exposing to the right. It is not perfect but it is close, and you can use it to your advantage if the situation calls for it e.g fireworks or scenes with very bright highlights.

Canon had issues with ADC on chip designs some time ago because of ?suspected infringement of Sony semiconductor patents and their sensors remained variant. Not sure if the latest ones have changed. It is not a very big deal.

Moi also have the same type of experience.

Just because I carry a DSLR with me..... all the other tour group members will automatically ask me to take photos for them at scenic spots. They all assume that I am some professional camera man. :s11:

Taking photos is fine, since we can all help one another, whilst travelling in a tour group.

However, got one time, got 1 unker who saw me use a lenspen and blower to clean my DSLR lenses.
He had the thick skin to ask me to help him clean his $100 point and shoot camera, and also his XiaoMi smartphone camera lens too.
