Agree, we can only read so much.

On my side what I can do is minimize the issues like those lousy Contractor we all knew and how many shortcut they take.

So 2 condensor but different yr install like 3 yr apart

Why? 1st installer, see any issues like workmanship after 2 to 3 yr as these take time

Also dont want them to same age

2nd, now I understand why Pete always say over capacity is better. Based on my own testing 26c afternoon take not more then 15min to cool down while 21c need almost 1hr

FYI those that don't know what I mean, cool down times is based on starmax operations light

Etc........

Now is to use as per normal but take note of my ac limit (below 23c is a no no cause 21c already take over 50min to cool down) and do my own diy cleanin
My 2nd condenser should be 18k
What is the bedroom size that needs 18k? Or living?

I did wanted to install 15k and 9 or 12k at the same time. So can stack front and back.

But as said. I dont trust the installer, so to cut damage, let the first one install then see how.

So i choose 2 condensor but different yr to install like 3 yr apart

Why? 1st installer, see any issues like workmanship after 2 to 3 yr as these take time, if hv don't call them again.

Also dont want them to be the same age as they are to act as backup of each other, aka raid 1

Current doing the pan tablet experiment on placement will post pic and video when it ready

My 2nd condenser should be 18k or 15k, nothing is set in stone yet

2nd condenser should be also be a experiment

25mm drain pipe and 1inch thick insulation, direct factory style layout no trunking

Should be fun

I used 1in insulation for the gas pipe in the false ceiling. For the liquid pipe i just used the normal 1/2in.
for drains always 16mm all these years. As long as there is a vertical drop after the FCU, there will be enough water pressure to push the slime out.

to add only starmex and dailkin have 15k

KL and JB users bought starmex an over from SG.
No wonder the starmex has higher resale value 😅.

Anyways before i switch, anyone faces any not cooling or qc problems with the ismile eco? Currently using pana xpremium and everything is ok except for that funny sound which keeps happening, also do not want to take chance and warranty is ending...

18k models are easier to find than 15k, and the price difference isn't much
Not sure the actual prices but I used coolserve prices and found that 15k btu seems to be best for price/capscity and cooling/power consumption for single split.
I used the price divided by cooling kw and also the cooling kw by kw consumed.
but of course all these are moot if 15k is under or over sized. Just some bo liao paper calculations.

quick update:

room cool down based on FCU operation light off
26c at speed 3 = 8min to 12min
25c at speed 3 = 12min to 15min
24c at speed 3 = 17min to 21min
21c at speed 3 = 50min to 1hr 20min
21c at speed 4 = 50min to 1hr 20min

Actually the starmex 12k single split FCU is bigger sized vs the 12k multi split one. And the fan speed is higher. So in a sense you are already cooling pretty well.
if you want to cool faster then press powerful multiple times.
if you look at specs for 12k and 15k, both can ramp up the inverter by an extra 0.6kw of cooling. But the 18k can go ramp up 1.2kw vs rated. The 18k really gives that extra headroom. But you do need to force it by using powerful. If you have a clamp ammeter then you can also monitor the current draw to see how the logic operates. I’m sure with powerful button it goes to max cooling at 4.1kw for the 12k but no idea if you put at 16c if it does the same.
