With the impending demise of 3G, it is expected that all telcos will support VoLTE... so what about VoNR?

Tried to compile a list, most don't really mention anything about it on their websites..

Singtel - ? (news of deployment, not sure of launch)
M1 - supported
Starhub - supported (Ultra-clear HD voice)
Simba - ? (news of deployment, not sure of launch)

Gomo - ?
Heya - No 5G
CMlink - ?
vivifi - ?
Zero1 - ?
Zym - ?
Giga - ?
eight - No 5G
MyRepublic - supported (Ultra-clear HD voice)
redONE - No 5G
Maxx - No 5G
Changi Mobile - No 5G
Circles.Life - ?
Geenet - No 5G

Feel free to share any updates

i posted on singtel sim only thread yesterday:

just today onwards i realise my calls don’t drop to 4g anymore and stays on 5g, regardless of SA or NSA. does this mean singtel is starting to use vonr? although there isn’t such setting on my iphone as compared to my other lines with starhub/m1

is it the same for others?

I don't get any VoNR on my Samsung and M1. News article way back in 2021 said M1 and Samsung launched VoNR
Our Telco just want to leech us. Fake 5G. All don't want to spend more to upgrade the infrastructure.
Our IMDA also can't be bothered. Speed, connectivity and quality still cannot make it.

This is the reason I no longer want to buy any more 5g phones even though I bought a Pixel 6A a few years ago.

Cos what happened with the 3g shutdown will happen again when 4g shutdown where 5g phones without VoNR will become paper weights when 4g shutdown.

But still have to get newer hardware to ensure compatibility during usage, no? i.e. at least a 4G phone?

Vonr is on 5G SA, not on NSA which is using 4G network.
So it’s still on VoLTE even though the phone stays on 5G during a call? My Singtel business line which is using an older NSA SIM card stays on 5G all the way during a call.

Basically, VoNR is voice/calls on 5G network and VoLTE is the same on 4G.

And if your device is showing 5G NSA which is essentially on 4G network, then that is not 5G voice/VoNR despite your phone showing 5G.
In short, 5G NSA is using everything on 4G, including the data and voice (VoLTE).

It is possible that the device can switch from 5G SA to 5G NSA during calls and back to 5G SA when call ends. Either the network connection in that area is insufficient or no deployment of VoNR.

I think in android devices can see the difference in the settings, sim status menu while in call and off call while in SA or NSA

Singtel 5G SA doesn't support VoNR on iphones yet. Still falls back to VoLTE during a call.

There's also a VoNR switch for M1 on iphone which is default to off, so I presume unless there's a similar switch in mobile service settings, VoNR wouldn't be enabled.

Just an update from the Singtel SIM Only discussion thread, Now Singtel supports VoNR, but it depends on the phone, for example, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra works now with Singtel VoNR.

I think VoNR could be device dependent, my S25 Ultra shows Vo5G (VoNR) after updating the firmware to Android 16 (One UI 8).

My Poco X7 Pro does not work, only VoLTE and VoWiFi.

Using the following to enable the VoNR option for my Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro, but then I can only see VoLTE in the phone status bar, along with 5G+ (5G SA), not VoNR.

I guess VoNR is not supported by SingTel yet, right? Or this is the phone limitation under SingTel Mobile network?

If on WiFi, VoWiFi is shown in the status bar, if I change the setting to "Prefer Wi-FI" from the default "Prefer mobile networks" for the SIM Card's "Network preferences" options.

Does the POCO X7 Pro support VoNR?

VoNR is turned off on the POCO X7 Pro by default. It can be turned on when your carrier supports it. Similar to VoLTE (Voice over 4G networks), VoNR is a voice call technology based on 5G networks, designed to provide a higher quality voice call experience. VoNR achieves lower latency and better voice clarity over 5G networks, while supporting higher bandwidth data transmission.
To enable VoNR, please refer to the following steps:
1. Enter *#*#8667#*#* on the phone’s dial, then your device will display the VoNR option;
2. Go to [Settings];
3. Tap [Mobile networks];
4. Select the SIM card that you want to use the VoNR;
5. Enable the [Use VoNR] option.

Note:
VoNR is not widely used at present, and in some areas, the voice call function of the 5G network is still being gradually deployed. Most devices and carriers will still give priority to using VoLTE technology for calls before there is sufficient 5G voice coverage.

OnePlus 13 also does not work.

my oneplus 13 also does not show Vo5G, hopefully when andriod 16 arrives, it will be enable...
