Does brand of rice matter in a high price rice cooker?
In Singapore we get high quality rice so not really, variety makes a bigger difference. I prefer calrose rather than jasmine hom mali

I am now using stainless rice cooker. Really waste a lot of rice. As we did not eat together then it dried up when we keep warm so not good to use.

Using Philips rice cooker. Bought at $79/$89 cant really remember. So far so good. Lasts > 10yrs liow :D I think rice quality and new/old rice makes a difference more than rice cooker itself. E.g new rice needs less water and old rice more water. If u put wrong amt of water then the cooked rice wont turn out well too.

Dont buy la gourmet multi-function cooker. Overpriced and cannot work properly.

Auto 24hour warm function can burn out the exterior layer of rice.

Ceramics take very long to cook. Good ?
Taste better
But have to adjust preparation time
Market is flooded with non stick (cancer) , aluminium (Alzheimer's)
Alternatives are ceramic, steel, copper, earthen wares, or steamed rice

If using non stick or alum
Don't wash rice inside the pot
Wash rice using another pot first
Never scratch the non stick or alum coating
The chems or alum will leach into rice

Washing ceramic pot need to wait cool off first
