Is he the only politician who asked about who is paying for the free shuttle bus at Marina Parade?

Erm, this is funded directly by taxpayers not by S&CC. Which means taxpayers not staying in MP are paying for it by they are not entitled to the service. Which is why they should not paint the pictures of the MPs who did not pay for the services, but instead say thank you to the rest of SG as their taxes get used inefficiently.
The mps did pay the money for the picture to be put up but not the bus service itself hor!! Ultimately is our money.

Newsflash bro, everything the govt provides is funded by “taxpayers”…

that’s the purpose and job of govt.

The real qn is why Marine Parade can do this and not Aljunied TC?
I mentioned taxpayers cos you mentioned S&CC charges in your earlier post.

To your follow up post, I guess it is waste of taxpayers money? Failure to safeguard taxpayers’ money? G is supposed to use taxpayers’ money proper. (In addition, to correct your factual misunderstanding, this is funded through CDC, not thru TC).

These are the real questions:

1) Why MP GRC and not for the whole Singapore.

2) Why is each Gov agency doing their own public bus planning? Isn’t it more efficient to be under MOT / LTA? It seems to be an admission that MOT has failed?

3) Since we are using taxpayers’ money to run it, why paint the images of the PAP MPs to market themselves (why do they even need to paint the buses), should they just say thank you to taxpayers staying at all other parts of SG given that these people are funding it but won’t be entitled to it?

Coz each agency has its own KPIs
Means PAP Gov is inefficient given the lack of coordination and lack of synergy? If not, how come multiple Gov agencies and doing the same role? PAP needs to understand that as custodians of taxpayers’ money, they need to optimise the usage. Not anyhow use and then ask for increase in taxes to cover for the profligate spending.

why would marine parade fall?

its full of rich boomers rite?
I guess the idea is to get HDB dwellers to subsidise the richer people? Isn’t this similar to what PAP’s new friends (influencers) are doing? Asking for donations for their condos.

the summary of this from my POV is that
the fund used is $50k for 7 minibus svc lines
if the full feeder svc cost is $100k
why is it CDC cannot fund all 17 towns with free feeder svc ?
it is ONLY $1.7million ...

even if it is not free
lets say 50cent
the signon rate if u all see the news is about 7000 users
7000 x 20 trip 1 month x 50ct = S$70000 ...
the cost is not terrible nor prohibitive ...

why is it that area special they can use CDC ?

Other towns don’t need the swing votes

Each CDC is entitled to run their own programmes

doesn’t have to be a cookie cutter approach

if the CDC saw a gap and addressed it thru their shuttle bus trial, it should be applauded

wonder why YJJ didn’t think of something for his own constituents, but want to throw shade at what other constituencies are doing. Seems like the work of a 小人

You failed to understand that all government agencies including the ministries are custodians of taxpayers money. They are supposed to optimise the utilisation of taxpayers’ money. If the KPI for is agency is not to work with other agencies, then our governance has failed badly. (Btw, PAP mentioned that the situation in MP GRC is similar to other parts of SG).

In your argument that CHT isn’t doing his job at MOT / LTA properly such that CDC has to step in, then should we change him? Or should we then use taxpayers money inefficiently, as a result of this lack of synergy in our public transport policies?

Similarly, we have issues with HDB, should CDC start building their own HDB flats as well?

If we follow your ideology of zero accountability for taxpayers’ money. Then we will go down the path of our neighbour. And you could probably be the 小人 that destroy SG.

In case you are not aware, these are the 5 CDCs in Singapore. If you feel that other CDCs are not doing their job proper (if you feel that getting involved in public transport planning is part of CDC’s responsibility), please help to start a campaign with these 5 mayors to have it for the whole SG. Of course you may also argue that the rest of the mayors aren’t doing their job properly.

In case you are out of touch with reality as well, this was what was mentioned in the parliament about public transportation.

Putting your face on the shuttle bus funded by tax payers is definitely wrong.

The fine print says “advisor to…”

They have roles to play in the CDC and made the decision to run the shuttle service. Whether it is a good or bad outcome, it’s their names tied to it.

Putting your face on the shuttle bus funded by tax payers is definitely wrong.
