Battery capacity test after using for 14 days, 10-12 hours daily. At night, RGB is on for about 3 hours a day. LED off.

This keyboard should be able to last near or close to 3 months in 1 charge, and that's with 2ms wireless latency.

The power efficiency and wireless performance are unbeatable o_O

Nice 👍, is the armory crate now better with the keyboard? Normally I uninstalled it after setup the necessary.

Armoury Crate is more like "Armory Crap"

First, there’s too little customization, which makes the LED functionality useless. I only have the Lite standalone version installed, just for firmware upgrades or customization. Also, it doesn't allow key combination to be bind in the software, and the macro recording is kind of questionable because it doesn't allow recording of FN, nor can i bind any macros to the scroll wheel (3 bindable inputs).

I initially used the standalone version and then tried the full version of Armoury Crate once. However, it was way too bloated, so I ended up uninstalling it and returning to the standalone Azoth version. Even doing this caused a problem, which I will explain.

After reinstalling the standalone version, I tried changing software options like my initial setup, such as LED settings. When tinkering with the settings inside the software, I realized that the LEDs on my keyboard were no longer synchronized like before.

This was when I realized that something had gone wrong with Armoury Crate. I noticed that my idle RAM usage was around 8-9GB. After some research, I realized that I had to use the Armoury Crate uninstaller which has to be downloaded from their website before installing other versions or reinstalling it. Now, it’s working fine, and my system is back to normal.

So it did cause some issues on my problem, but by using the armory crap uninstaller on their website and then doing a fresh install, the problem is solved. I think Asus ROG seriously needs to wake up on their software department.

It's quite a shame because the hardware and tech is really really good.

Btw, just got a keyboard cover for it. :)

Yeah, the software sucks, but the hardware is really great, especially the 2ms stable 2.4GHz wireless connection and a battery life lasting ~3 months with 10-12 hours of daily use with around 3 hours of RGB. Given the 4000mAh battery, this is pretty impressive.

Also, the NX Snow linear switch by Kaihl is very well factory-lubed. Its 1.8mm actuation and 3.6mm bottom-out make it great for fast typing and gaming due to its quick rebound. The keyboard also has good stabilizers and full customizability like other "enthusiast" models.

The build is made of both dense plastic and metal, weighing around ~1.2kg, which I find just right for a 75% plastic keyboard. The all-metal 'extreme' version weighs 2.2kg, which is too heavy for my taste.

Lastly, the keyboard is comfortable without a wristrest since the first key height is pretty low, similar to floating keycap designs, if you know what I mean.

Logitech launches Alto Keys K98M for the China market. It has the usual Logi Bolt USB support.

That is interesting, but they never talk about the features so i feel that its just mediocre keyboard.

All these fully customizable gasket-mount keyboards with noise-absorbing foam and padding inside are everywhere already.. it's a given.

When it comes to large brands like that, not only do they have to mention those things, but the technology needs to be top-notch as well .

They must have a standout feature if they want to make a comeback.

Need to wait for reviews. No idea yet. But I'll be a buyer if it comes with standard interchangeable keycaps (Cherry MX). The secure encrypted Logi Bolt USB is the unique selling point that no other mechanical keyboard makers have.

@Yongkit found this spreadsheet and thought you might be interested.

Some wired keyboards have a latency of 10ms+ or even 20ms+, which indicates electronic fundamental design flaws. I would always advise against getting such keyboards because if they can't get the fundamentals right, it's likely that other aspects of their keyboard might also be compromised.

It reminds me of some older keychron boards that were wired but had very high latency. Apparently, many people complain online that those same models fail in less than a year, and it's not even a mainstream brand yet can easily find all these complain on public space like reddit., also the warranty policy is really bad..

If it was a mainstream brand, I would understand because there are many users, but for a non-mainstream brand with relatively fewer users, there are so many complaints, lol. Also, there are literally users here who also said the same thing.

Board processing time is one indicator that does not lie, everyone doing sub 5ms without anything special, and if one product 10-20 ms wired.. its obvious something internally is not right.

i guess most custom keyboard users are not avid hardcore gamers so to them, latency especially on wifi, will not be the not their priority when they are building. More of them are either looking for aesthetic or the ASMR typing sound.

of course, there will be a group that want it all, performance, sound, aesthetic. there is where more soho brands like wooting, melgeek, wuque are starting to go hall effect switches.
