So far the days with the most noise and dust =

1st day: Hacking

7th day: Tiling (Wall tiles)

I expect the same when they do the floor tiles.

We have to choose between having a temporary/mobile toilet (which cannot be used when they are working = in the daytime) or water to the kitchen tap. The kitchen is also narrow by design.

We chose the latter.

During this time, will keep receiving flyers from real estate agents offering to sell your home at premium prices.

Did mine last year, cannot ask for more for that price. Hope everything is good for you, don't slam the toilet seat, the spring effect will be gone but within one year your can ask for replacement, wait till just before the one year up or before paying the bill.

I stayed with friends for the first 2 days, after I moved back to use the last room

I'm so glad mine was over last Wed (2/10).

We paid $4xx cash to have the default PVC pipes in both toilets upgraded to stainless steel ones;

You really need to be around for the last two days to confirm and ensure the fixture locations, test-run all the installed fixtures, find faults/defaults, and have them fixed/rectified.

Edit: I paid the worker $30 to fix two popped tiles in my bedroom (the short type at the bottom of the wall).

I guess every one is glad that the ordeal is over when the HIP is completed.
Replaced the PVC pipes like what you did.
