this one must get govt to force regulate the platform not to introduce jods to phv drivers while they are stew on a jod.

than in future if got more than one dominant ride hailing app, all apps must register car lisen plate, and when the car lisen plate is on a jod, cannot reccomend/intro another jod to the apps.

No one expect siaolang to dash across 3 lane road when light is not in their favour, especially when you are on furthest lane

Nah. That’s not how the law works. The traffic laws for speed limits and drivers’ mandatory requirements to pay attention to road conditions means , if they were travelling below speed limits ( <60km/h) and paying attention, they are highly likely able to avoid a collision even if a “siao lang jump onto the road”

The operator of a deadly machinery (aka the car) has the onus to ensure he can operate his machinery without causing harm. Phv driver is most likely to have his license suspended unless he can prove he didnt violate any of the many many traffic rules. Go deliver food . One less behgan sinkie driver . One more COE for someone better 👍

Laws of physics dude.

Need time to react, and also time to stop a heavy fast moving vehicle.

Think the driver most likely distracted. But still, onus is on the driver too look out. Junction very dangerous one. More people take risk at the junction. Thus more accidents. Therefore cannot take it for granted at junction. Need to pay more attention.

Think cause both sides err. Poor judgement. That's why accident. Driver fail to keep a proper lookout. Pedestrian fail to stop for traffic. If either more alert. Could have avoided it.

This kind of big junction should not cross on blinking green. Small road still can risk it. But not big junction. If see cannot cross liao. Best is to stand at the center divider wait for traffic clear.

Think this is the kind of moment where horning is called for. Nevermind if it make the other party displease. See anyone err just horn. Not that can shoo them away. But rather serve more as an alert to other users. If the other vehicles had horned the pedestrian, the driver probably would be alerted to it despite the distraction.

Cars already moved off liao wor.

Sg traffic lights doesn't change colour immediately. After pedestrian light turns to red, got a few seconds before vehicle light turns green.

Sg traffic light got a pause between pedestrian light turning red and vehicle light turning green.

This jaywalker crossed after the lights already turned red, looking at how all the vehicles have moved off when the siaolang start dashing across the road

If change scenario, instead of siaolang jaywalker, a vehicle beat red light and drive into the path of all these vehicles, they will be punished 9696 and be liable for all damages.

So why got special treatment for pedestrian lawbreakers?

If they are not supposed to be there in the first place, and end up causing an accident, they should be at fault.

Exactly. It is taken care of by the traffic laws. Drive below speed limit and always pay close attention. Then you will never hit anyone in your life or have to say “law of physics dude“ to a judge 🤣🤣🤣

Because you are the driver operating a deadly machine. The law place the onus of safety and responsibilities on YOU! The law always protect the vulnerable no matter how righteous you think your case is . And it is NEVER right to cause grievous injuries or death.

Are you saying that said vehicle is driving above the speed limit? Or that paying close attention involve acquiring x ray vision to see thru other vehicles plus looking sideways at all times when going straight?

yeah, it is jaywalking
Its a big junction. The pedestrian probably crossed when green man blinking. So, at point of crossing probably no wrong, but wrong in the timing. For, this kind of big junction blinking then cross, unless run, if not walk won't make it one. Then its either see if the other vehicles want to give way or not, or the pedestrian more seng-mong abit stop at the center divider for traffic to pass first. Else if both side don't give in, accident lor. :s22:
