Watched the video many times, still have to sympathize with driver more than pedestrian.

If you see carefully, the taxi and motorcycles in the middle line apparently spotted the xiao lang and slowed down already.

Does this mean the blue (impact) car was not attentive? Our field of vision looking forward is "V" shape, and because the blue car was wayyyyy on the left, the woman probably wasn't in his initial "arc of fire" and could have literally appeared in an instant to him (i.e. come into his vision) because she was running some more. Think nowadays alot of such. Often at junction can hear people hone for the front vehicle to move the moment the traffic signal change in their favour.

Life will never be the same for the 64 years old pedestrian . She choose to jaywalk and have to suffer for the rest of the life for any permanent injuries .

No one deserved to get hurt while crossing the road and the pedestrian could be anyone mother or love one. But then the driver could be any children's father or someone else husband. Imagine the stress and the trouble he faced now and also causing worries to the family.
