Andre Jumabhoy asks if court proceedings can start later tomorrow so that Pritam Singh can attend daughter’s event

Defence lawyer Andre Jumabhoy asks Deputy Principal District Judge Luke Tan if the hearing can resume at 11.30am tomorrow so that Pritam Singh can attend his daughter’s graduation, where she will give a speech.

The judge agrees.

Probably the judge knows that the IO will not take that long also....

Looks like trial will end earlier than expected. After written submissions, then closing arguments, then sentencing. By the week after Diwali should have the verdict already

if the judge decided prosecution had a case then it will extend to Nov.

I just wonder on what grounds do they have a case?
Does the prosecution suddenly have more 'evidence' or 'witness' to present to the court? They have any other questions they want to clarify with the unreliable witness? I don't think the three unreliable witness is solid ground to continue the case

And so, despite the anticipation surrounding the ex-WP chief's witness testimony, Mr Low's day in court is done after a grand total of 20 minutes spent answering questions from both the prosecution and the defence.

Speaking to reporters as he left the State Courts, he said Singapore voters are now more mature and can distinguish between a good and a bad politician. Throwing his suppport behind Singh, he described his successor as a capable and competent leader, with a heart for Singapore and Singaporeans.

Mr Low characterised this episode as a "hiccup" for Singh.
