Need to change cash or 100% digital payment?

Their private hire easy to book?

I took Scoot, direct to Kunming but not everyday have~ the day I fly back Scoot dont have any flight back to SG, so I went to Chengdu and took SQ direct. But the previous day I flew from Shangri-La Diqing to Chengdu and the train journey from Shangri-La to Chengdu feels too long for me

I used Wechat pay most of the time, it seems to be more widely accepted but I also have Alipay setup and used it. Not sure why Youtrip doesnt work when tied to my Wechat pay, keep getting stuck at contacting the bank page. My AMAZE card works fine when tied in both Alipay and Wechat pay

We got a driver to drive us around and take a look at our itinerary to see if we have enough time. Our colleague went the previous time with a tour and got to know this driver so he introduced to us. Driver help us to settle some ticket stuff too
Got the driver name and contact?

I think can always setup your Wechat again, but most important thing is to complete the identity verification, else may face problem binding your credit card to Wechat pay.

Actually the route I went was researched by my colleague, I mainly just see through and find it ok then go ahead already, online should have quite a lot of guide in chinese, the standard places to go are Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La. I did about 2 days of hiking in Tiger Leaping Gorge, 1 day in the Yulong snow mountain area. Got 1 day in Dali I did some cycling too, cause there's one stretch of road (大理S湾) of about 26km where car is not allowed to be used. The other places are mostly ancient town, prices there will be on the high side so avoid buying stuff there or do some bargaining before buying, usually can slash about 40 - 50% off~ If u are a buddhist, can also visit Buddhist temple at the Shangri-La area

Regarding F&E, its definitely possible as long as u have the necessary apps setup and done enough research~
Thanks for the reply. I am thinking of trek/walking and relying mostly on their public transport.

Unless really too inconvenient then maybe engage didi or their grab equivalent.

You think 1 week enough for your itinerary or you think some places should stay longer? I got feel to explore Xinjiang area before Yunnan

I always go to Dali, Lijiang and Shangrila when the weather gets too hot here. Think have gone at least 4 times so far. From June-Aug is their rainy season, but still cooler than sg.

Their hotels are cheap. Can just chill there for a few days. The climb to the top of Yulong Snow mountain is kind of challenging. It’s above 4000m.

You went hiking at Tiger leaping gorge? Need to be fit to complete the hike?
Wow nice, u are very experienced, can share with others here also (y)

Driver say try to avoid July to September period, rainy season spoil the trip hahaha

This time I went, only like 1 day rain, and it was at quite a short one at Tiger Leaping Gorge~

Ya indeed Yulong snow mountain a bit challenging, but really dont need oxygen unless u got medical condition like high blood pressure, asthma. Pregnant also not advisable to go up~ Dont go and buy oxygen to contribute to their coffer yeah hahaha. The hotel is really cheaper than more developed countries, booked all of them through trip dot com too

I spent about 5-6 hours per day for 2 days at Tiger leaping gorge, some part is challenging but I think for beginner, just buffer more time to complete is completely doable

was thking of zhang jia jie next march.
did u go wif tour group or self trip? or employ a local guide there?
and how long sg to yunan? cos if shorter trip mayb go there liao
ZJJ is 9 hrs flight. i might perish
I went for self trip with driver~ spent about 650 SGD per person for the driver

If more experienced, likely can skip the driver part and save more~ For me this is my first trip to China, so want to be on the safe side!
