Any day traders here?

When your buy trade matched, you immediately submit sell order at 50 cents to 1 dollar above just to earn a few hundred dollars.

Any tips?

I'm currently learning short-term trading. You can read as much as you want on the internet, nothing beats trying it out for yourself.

but just wondering, if you are able to buy a stock at a good price, then normally you would expect the price to rise over a few days, not just rise one day by 50cents to 1 dollar and then crash the next day?

I don't like to kill my bull that is about to charge into glory.
That's like capping your gain and that's not smart.

But then, I am not a smart guy either.

Trade US market not healthy if you have a day job and other family commitments.

I think if you just buy and sell within a week is already considered short-term trading.

The truly short-term trading is day trading, that is not healthy for those with a day job because the nightime stress (for SG timezone trading US market) & excitement will potentially disrupt body clock for deep restful sleep.

I think one type of day trading that is applicable to SG time, is to trade the market opening hours (1st hour only).

Short-term trading is all about decoding money flows or order flows. Basically this is what aurvandil is expert at.

Personally, I use short-term trading techniques to time the entry for long-term positions or cut loss.
  • If the short-term trend is guessed correctly and aligned with fundamentals, then it is possible to for me to not close the short-term trade and just convert it into a long-term position that last for weeks, hence increasing the % gain tremendously.
  • If the stock price struggle like sh*t after entry, means the current order flows are totally against fundamentals, then I convert to day trade and get out as fast as possible (use margin to pile in extra position to break even, if necessary).

definitely bad if it causes you to stay awake. I will just enter my order and go to bed at the normal time :)
If u js do simple buy sell of stocks, then no problem…..can also easily setup cut loss price and go sleep

Options only suitable for liquid names with lots of option volume.
My account is big enough to buy shares direct and no need to use options. Then I am free to select any company even if it has no options or low options liquidity.
