Is it true that the government does not have the political will to solve low birth rate problem?

save the planet first then talk about procreation

if you can't even guarantee the future, nobody is stupid enough to take a gamble and have kids

i think it's quite naive and daft to think you have to choose between the two.

like that... u should be seeing govt doing everything to save the planet and nothing else.

It’s not a question of political will. Don’t be hoodwinked into thinking that our govt is the best of the best and the brightest of the bright. Many developed countries are facing the same problem for multiple years and no one has figured a way out yet.

Think PAP will be the first ? Think again. It is more likely that some other country figures a way and we copy wholesale with minor adjustments. Can see from Covid

Just import - guaranteed votes. Especially from Malaysia. Just entice more Malaysians to convert.

sinkies you keep asking them have kids, then they have maids. Then sinkies complain why so many maids on Sunday. Why so many foreigners.
This is so true lol, we like to take stone smash own feet then later complain our feet pain.

Very hard to solve lah. It needs the whole nation to undergo a change in mentality. Forgo chasing after money and focus on family and values. In a world where small nations like sg fight to survive, how to survive if do not remain competitive?

Obviously will is not enough la, it’s like asking a primary student to solve three body problem. They can have all the will and belief that they can solve it but it’s just out of their limits. It’s not a simple problem to solve. Global leaders have no solution.

I believe they are good administrators but these kind of problem you really think the solution will come from us meh ?

Look left, look right but i dont see how the gov is "trying their best"...
in fact, don't see how they are incentivised for this KPI....

their main KPI remains to be GDP...
and kids are non-productive spending for first 18-20 yrs?
KPI is votes from NC.

Ancient China, no internet, no computer, not much entertaining, . so ppl either go war or reproduce lo..

Then before 1970s... no internet, no computer, condoms not easily assessible... TV only operates for half a day.. at nite after 9pm, nothing to do liao so ppl piak piak as entertainment and reproduce lo and ppl treat piak piak as a way of producing children to take care of them next time they grow old.

Now, so much entertainment, ppl want to travel the whole world.. condoms available everwhere.. ppl treat piak piak as just one portion of entertainment and prefer to spend all the $$$ earned on themselves. Diificult to reverse liao.. unless go back to pre-1970s.. no internet, etc

Low birth rate per woman ish impossible to fix liao.

Low birth rate as in number of births is easy to fix but may cost them to lose votes. Make polygamy legal for all races and not restricted to religion. The rich towgays and serpents will openly recruit xiao san xiao shi xiao wu to form harem in the multiple properties they own. These concubines will be beri eager to secure their share of the fortune by producing heirs so confirm will have at least one kid each and may even try until they get a son, so definitely will produce 1 or more each. The potential backlash is the Women's Charter. Have to abolish or amend it so it is no longer pay day when wives divorce. Currently too easy to have the fling walk off and sue for assets so not incentivised to give birth - also give birth liao, figure may go so not in their favour to give birth as mistresses. Hard truths. Does 4G have the iron in them or do they treat it as a game of cards?

if they truly wanted to solve, long ago solve liao.
they realised male and female both working no kids, import new citizens lead to better short term productivity and prosperity.

if a minister come up with solution, when can he see whether his idea successful or not? 40-50 yrs later?
i wouldn't bother if i'm minister, just care about short term results on paper can already.

They have screwed enough people so much that they are afraid the new Gen babies will be taught by their parents to vote them out. :o
