Mitssubishi Heavy Industries.
Using those spray foam to clean the fins.
Using 3M filter before the fins.
Pouring hotwater down the drainage pipe every 6 months.

Been 6 years.... using almost every day

But my colleage says really need professional cleaning from time to time and use chemical cleaning.

ChatGPT also say same thing.

What do you think

Chemical cause the internal coil fan is dirty. I usually would wipe the coil fan myself. About every 2 months. But very tedious job as I do not know how to dismental the aircon. Imagine Ur standing fan. U only wipe n vacuum the outer structure metal fan but without washing the inner blade

I don pour hot water into the pipe. But I use wet vacuum cleaner to suck out any jelly n residue every month.

Doesn't 3M filter before the fins lower its cooling power?

If your fins are clean (no sound) and fan coil is clean, there's no reason to engage professionally.

Care to share how to pour hot water on the drainage pipe when it was concealed and linked to the toilet?

I saw in another thread also in the first page. Some folks got post the aircon self cleaning guide. if you want to do it yourself.

Good suggestion on the wet vacuum. Thanks

There is a condenstation collection tray below the fins.
I pour the hot water there.
Not advisable to use hot water as this can cause pipe expansion/contraction and leading to leakage from drainage pipe.

I heavy user. Every 3 months will engage professional cleaning. $35/unit. Slightly more ex. But last time tried those 20+/unit ones. Those banglas simply made my house very dirty and throwing their equipment around.

Mine is $25/unit, $150 cos 6 units. I sign for 1 year 3x, with discount $4xx.

I usually make appointment 2 months in advance. They know my pattern liao, so the dates always free for me. I just serviced yesterday.

Have been doing DIY cleaning for around same duration but recently there's condensation issue becos the internal unit too dirty. Decided to get Aircon guys to do thorough chemical wash for all 5 units. After servicing, there's a stark difference in temp, it's much colder.

For pipes am using Karcher wet/dry vacuum to clear it then treat it with generous amount of bleach solution.
