I personally found SAR21 less accurate, although scope easier to see the target. Trainer tell me factory zeroed, but I aim and shoot dunno why never hit. Good thing is the SAR21 I was issued was new, so much less IA.

My M16 more accurate after zeroing, lighter, and better balanced.

I used M16 as NSF but SAR21 as reservist. Preferred SAR21 due to targeting scope. Could shoot and score way better than using M16.

Trained with both.

If in war or for live range, i'd pick sar21 for the ez mode shooting. M16 much harder to zero and terrible to rely on its frontsight tip for night shooting.

For training, definitely m16. Lighter, less bulky, easier to secure, easier to sling with comfort

I think m16 harder to handle leh Bro jrwong84... :(

Correct. SAR21 technical handling is so easy that even after NS, still can remember in ICT.

SAR21 technically wont IA if the rifle is clean. IA can happen in M16 way more commonly.

Worst weapon to handle is GPMG. Heavy, dirty, more complicated. The only enjoyable part is shooting it from the hill.

After rolling on muddy grounds, my SAR 21 scope can't be used at all. Can only shoot bird.

I don't have such problem with M16
Good point... A lot of well-used ones in unit have scratched up lenses, cannot get a clear picture at all.

By right, it should be flushed with fluid. But in the interest of time and simplicity, we just use flanelette cloth to wipe, which would scratch it up even more.

I prefer SAR21 for range. Easier to get marksman due to the scope. But that's only my experience during reservist.

But problem is no zeroing exercise, so the factory zeroed rifle is shoot bird. Had to get the staff to help me adjust before I can shoot the target.

M16 is genuinely good.

Light, reliable, easy to maintain and no need scare people steal the regulator.

Sar21 also good, but it is heavy and not designed for an army that is trained to tekan each other.

Actually I only hate sar 21 because I feel that it is just a conversion to help turn state money into private money through ST. You know you know.
Min-death should donate a few shipments of SAR21 to Ukraine to test the rifle in battle. Then after 1 month of fighting, send feedback form to them to feedback on the rifle.

prefer m16. sar gets problematic once the barrel heats up. your accuracy etc will be affected. also sar21 scope not consistent one, need to keep recalibrate and will dirty / fog up especially if u wearing glasses. i found myself more consistent with the m16 iron sight.
