Don't think I'd ever say Merry Christmas.

25th Dec is just another public holiday like Hari Raya or Dewali.

I'd only say Happy Holidays.

Yes. Christmas is not a thing to me.

Only important tradition is CNY must say Gong Xi Fa Chai.

Follow one tradition very tiring already. still wanna follow xmas simi sai...

lol. it's just me.

I will say "Happy Holidays" to wish them BOTH Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Cos many people take leave during this period and you won't see them until next year.

Happy holidays.

Funny thing is most of the ppl I know that celebrate Christmas aren't even Christians. Celebrated it because of the gift exchange and a trendy thing to do. Yea, they are women ☕

Today, however, the practice of using “Merry Christmas” is a fraught one. The choice between sticking with the traditional salutation or the more politically correct “Happy Holidays” is riven by differences in ideology, age, geography and gender. The person most likely to insist on “Merry Christmas” would be a Republican man over 60 who lives in the Midwest; the archetypal “Happy Holidays” proponent is a young (18 to 29) female Democrat living in the Northeast.
Just reply merry Christmas too.

they want to use happy holidays is their rights and so does others to use the politically correct merry Christmas

Tell them, "See you at work on 25th Dec."

If people don't believe in Christmas, then they don't believe in that holiday, if they don't believe in that holiday, they should just go back to work.

Just replied the same. Stupid to say should not use Chinese New year.
Actually nobody had problems with saying chinese new year. The issue arise because there are some who are angry with the usage of lunar new year

Not everyone celebrates Christmas.
But you can still receive a merry Christmas greeting, get a rest day on Christmas, and still do not celebrate it

I think it is totally fine to use appropriate terms for appropriate situations but be cautious not to sound imposing unless the term is highly inappropriate.

Basic principle is you are free to use your preferred terms provided it isn’t highly inappropriate. You can also share the reasons why, but without asking others to not use their own terms unless for very good reasons

of cos what is inappropriate or what is good reasons really got to go down to specific examples
