I think if everyone had a million (or maybe billions in today's standard) dollars in the bank account, everyone can afford for more vacations to relax and have fun rather than face the daily pressure of living, of upskilling, of keeping up with technology, of reporting to work daily and dealing with deadlines..

As of now, I don't have a million dollars in the bank. Living is stressful due to high competition, threat of layoffs, KPIs, deliverables, etc. Then dealing with unknown health conditions, random sickness, weird viruses, air pollution, micro-plastics in food, etc. Heck I don't even want my kid to be born on this Earth...spare them of the stress and madness.
1mil is not a lot.

First of all, even with a million dollars, money will never be enough. What is important is to develop the mindset and ability of how to use money to make money, only then you can achieve financial independence. I see many people having million dollars buying private property thinking of making money, I say don't unless you are freaking wealthy, or else you endup with another debt since you are likely still borrowing money and living with another debt. Things are very volatile nowsday, it better to stop overthinking about long term, because long term, we are probably dead. Take calculated risk that does not put you into significant debt. Do things in short term, take thing as they come and enjoy a cup of coffee, because been short term means you can stay flexible on planning things, if thing does not work, try alternative.

most people should not have kids. in case you do not know.
99% of sinkie are coolie genes. their bad behaviour will be inherited through their kids.
and from the way you talk, confirm never will have millions in bank.
at most is a 'million dollar' valuation on a illiquid property in bubble land sinkapore.

Life is really tough for those in forties with kids and elderly parents.

We used to go for weekly restaurant meals, but have cut back on those. While our household income had increased, our expenditure had increased way more compared to pre-covid, not to mention job security risks for us in forties, higher work stress, health concerns etc..

No wonder most Singaporeans remain dink or look so unhappy. And govt still wonder why we not giving birth. Pui.
This week can go for restoran meals with the cdc vouchers we just got :(

Not true. From the way any of our PAP minsters talk, it's hard to believe that have millions in the bank too.

1 Million is not much actually, especially with a wife and kid

You still need to keep working.

With a property loan, a car, and 1-2 kids, monthly is at least 10 k.
